Finally, yes, finally a book that is intriguing me...will be out on Tuesday...written by a professor from Amherst...tales about the occupation of France during the 2nd World War by the Germans...how the collaboration worked...and the need to survive...hmmm...called "When Paris Went Dark"...hope it's on Nook...ah hem...pre-ordered it...$8.99...

Have you read "Unbroken" yet?...absolutely spell binding...and a movie is being made of it...will knock your socks off...

I can't think of any John Grisham book I didn't like...

I just can't imagine reading the novel, wait, nonfiction one by Hillary, "Hard Choices"...

And the absurd, Abby Lee Miller...you know, the Dance Moms luny....she is signing this week at Coronado...have to get over there...NOT!...

Did you know that the NFL kicks off this eve?...the Hall of Fame game...eegads...and the rest of the league gets going this week...

You used Uber yet?...it just got started in the Salem area while we were there...and get this...Marsh left her invaluable "reunion photo" in the car...and the driver actually sent it to her in SD...wow!...

Brag rights here...made a lasagna last eve...and it was so good...the key?...cooking the spinach before...of course, it was in butter....but come on....so bueno...and using whole milk Ricotta...

Almost gave up on the Pads...took 12 innings...OT...and we pulled it off...against the "Braves"...some of them idiot fans were using the "chop" as they were leading early...ha ha...guess it's better than flipping the finger...turrible managing by Atlanta's skipper...as he used his ace closer for 38 pitches...and was out of gas...good for us...

We are getting much needed rain...well, you might call it drizzle...and when the weather guys and gals call for storms here...it's kind of a joke...PNWers, you KNOW what I mean...

Sergio and Rory...right now the class of the PGA...wouldn't believe that Garcia could resurrect his career...but he has done it...

Saw a great interview of old PGAer Lanny Wadkins...a real one...I mean, he told the truth...and it was a glimpse of what it was really like, back 30 or 40 years ago on the tour...on the show, "Feherty"...catch it...

Concern...another horse went down at Del Mar...this time on the regular track...are these just run too often?...drugs?...has to be a reason...the surface of the track?...hmmm...

We are but a month away from our annual excursion to Maui...
