Nothing like a great start to the week...you know, great weather, golf scheduled, and 2 concerts...Cher and Boz (again)...hope Marsh doesn't scare him away this time...long story...and my hair to be done tomorrow...what does that mean?...shhh...it's a secret...the staff wants platinum blonde...

The All Stars...MLB style...named last nite...and every team gets at least one bloke honored...the rub is this...if in doubt, the manager of the league has the final say...and this time around...the NL guy is the St Louis Card...and he picked our one and only...who should have been the closer, Huston Street...he picked his own closer in lieu...and then went with one of our starters, Tyson Ross...there are other situations like this...for other teams...snubs...

The Pads did flounder against the Giant's SD killer, Timmy Lincicum...and he beat us again, for like the hundredth time...at least we got a hit or two...and lost the series 2-1....ho hum...watch closely as it is trade time in the league and we will be busy...

It took until almost the All Star break, but my fantasy baseball team is now in ...first place...I have a real good one...and will be battling it out with one other team for the rest of the year...so says me...

An oldy but a goody won in West Virginny in the PGA...Argentinian Angel Cabrera...$1.1million...not a bad payoff, huh...and that country is still in the hunt in soccer, too...

Watched a bit of the Miley spectacle...2 hours of whatever...she doesn't have enough songs to fill it up...and was boring...real so...

2 weeks until the opening of Del Mar...won't be there for opening day...but will find a way prior to the PS and Orygun trips...pick 6 here I come...

Trivia...who got the winning hit (a hr) in the very first MLB All Star game?...

The Aztecs lost money by going to their Bowl Game this past season...$88 grand...and yet, the football staff made big bonuses for qualifying...hmmm...I wonder how many schools go thru the same thing?...the entire bowl situation is a huge corruption biz...and is growing...College Prezzes, have you NO SHAME?...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
