A Maven

Good morning, kids...just had two nights of concerts...sandwiched in was a glorious round of golf...and I must talk about the best of the best...ah hem, not the hacking...Boz Skaggs...this time the venue was the outside one held by the San Diego Symphony...on Mission Bay...just a few blocks from us...the weather was perfect...there was a bright moon out...and we had tables in the champagne section...thus, had waiter service...the acoustics were terrific...and Boz was spot on...

He sang ALL of his hits +...and was obviously having fun...and it transferred to the output...I could listen to "Midnight Train To Georgia" over and over...we were with the Mackles and Allens...split 4 bottles of wine and a couple of starter plates...man, to say it was near perfection was right...the night could not have been better...

On the other hand...Cher...hmm...repeatedly told us she was 68...we saw her at the Sports Arena...inside venue....and the AC was barely working...been hot here...I have seen her twice before...once back in '65 when she was just starting...with Sonny...and then about 9 or so years later in Reno...and was disappointed back then...and this time?...again...

Don't get me wrong...but...she looked great and sounded pretty good...but...she lacked enthusiasm...and left the feeling that she was bored...it was a Vegas type of act, er show...a 3 minute song and then 5-8 minutes of trapeze artists...waiting for her to change gowns, er outfits...whatever...well, she is 68...

Thankfully, her opening act was...GREAT!...Cindi Lauper...who came out of the crowd and showed so much get up and go...had a blast and we did, too...and she isn't that young...but who cares?...she can sing and put on a dazzling set...

We are not through...we have one more to go this next week...it's at another outside place...Humphrey's...and it's the show that features the Turtles...amongst others that are from that era..."So Happy Together"...

And for the rest of the stories out there...

My fear of the Israel/Palestine war is right around the corner...I just don't see any other method of closure...there is no peace offering in the offing...

The Love kid, out of Orygun, could possibly be paired up with King James in Cleveland...the dominoes have to fall just right for that to happen...

What on earth are the Lakers doing?...I see no growth anywhere...could be a very looooong season...

PDX signed a couple of oldie but goodies for their bench...eegads, what a couple of questionable moves...rumor is that they are trying to get Charles Barkley, too...

If the Pads could only hit...and or, play small ball...but the manager keeps thinking that they are going to start hitting soon...nil...a common score...

Who you got, Argentina or Germany?...me thinks the Euro team...but, I know nothing...one-nil...

Have a serene Sunday...
