Father's Day

And to all of you out there who are papas, have a special day...and do the remembrances of yours who have passed...like mine, Allan Shepard...take the time to be around yours in the here and now...there's a reason for you being on this planet...enough of that...you know what I mean....

Scathing article in the Trib today...about firing the Pads manager, Bud Black...basically, l like I have been saying for awhile...a change is needed and you can't move ALL the players...it's pro sports kids...unfortunately, it happens more in the lower levels...like even high school quicker...

Tenure...for teachers...struck down in California...hmmm...protect the bad ones, so they say...one thing that I always feared, was being judged by an incompetent administrator...or the tie in as a coach...struggle on the field, and you may also get the boot from the class room...a lot more Q's than answers...

You watching the US Open?...the course won yesterday...as there were but a few blokes who broke par...one was the "big hat, no cows" SoCal product, Puma $ moneymaker, Ricky Fowler...who has positioned himself in 2nd...5 shots back...and in the final group with the leader, still...Martin Kaymer....of course, he's who I am pulling for...er, the pool, you know...and he is a CLASS act...

The last day of the NBA finals...so says me...as Pop's Spurs will handle the defenseless Heat...OK, if LeBron goes crazy, there is a chance for Miami...but SA has to play very poorly...and just don't see that happening....

Pads won a game!...beat the Mets...in fact shut them out...and the power hitter, Headley (?) hit a dinger...our pitcher was a AA bring up...what we should be doing with a gaggle of positions...it can not be worse than what we put out there...

World Cup...the US plays on Monday...I will watch a bit of it...nil...

My son took us to din din at Morton's last eve...was a great meal...they had a special...4 course...the deal...was that you had to know that there was one...you had to ask the waitress special...kind of weird...

You repubs...your House MAJORITY leader...Eric Cantor...got beat in the primaries in Virginia...by a Tea Party bloke...I think it says big things about where your power is coming from...dial in to the Koch Bros. for your direction...you happy with that?...hmmm...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
