Another possible winner, not being able to go the distance at the Belmont Stakes...as California Chrome was in position to fire...and couldn't...loads of reasons...most of all, the 3 races in 5 weeks...and the track's condition is heavy...so the come from behind ones have trouble...on this surface...and if you listened to the part owner after the race...he told you exactly how he felt...and there are those that would say "sour grapes", er "poor loser"...true...but he is also right!...there are such strict regulations to get your horse into the Kentucky Derby...and after that, poof!...those are gone...one might say competitive balance...hmmm...

As I wrote yesterday, my greatest fear is the horse ridden by Joel Rosario...who is the best jockey in the world...and yup...he was the winner...

And this just out...Chrome had a bad hoof...kicked by himself, or by the horse next to him in the gate...doesn't take much, when you weigh that much on such spindly little legs...

Pads win!...albeit, it was that number 11...that was the one that it took to get the V...the same as Tonalist in the Belmont...OK, I know that's a stretch...but...it was a great outing for Cashner, and then ruined by the set up man...who gave up a 3 spot...and that's the way it was going to stay...until the bottom of the ninth, two outs, and then...BAM!...Alonso hit a tater to tie it...and then we got it in OT...geez, I wish we could get 2 in a row...

You ever listen to the unending positive takes by Lefty?...kind of makes you think that he is on the brink of figuring it out...and yet...he has floundered on his level for quite some time...and does not get it done...hmmm...let's see how he does today...I have to come up with 5 blokes for the Open...pick him?...naw...unless...

Finally, who you got for game number 2 in the NBA?...huge odds that the Heat do not lose 2 in a row...let's hope that the air conditioner is working...

Now, THIS is the day we take that bike ride...near perfect...

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
