Conversion

I kind of skipped over the 50 year thing of ...The Beatles...as so many life changing things happened fifty years ago...the JFK murder, the beginning of the Beach Boys, the impending doom of our involvement in Vietnam, the expansion of the evening news from 15 to 30 minutes...and on and on...actually, the TV turning from B and W to color...things that may be taken for granted now...

Back to the topic...they were the embodiment of so much conversion...from the guys short hair cuts, to the long, shaggy style...to soul songs being sung by other than the originals....where bands played their own music...and they had which so many didn't...charisma...

They lasted much longer than the old rule of 3 years and yer out...as they kept producing and getting in more depth for about 7 years...really...the picture of Abbey Road is in the latter part...but for none of us that ever set foot on England soil, still could tell you where this is...

As Ed Sullivan announced to the US on his variety show, "Here are the Beatles!", we were all hooked...and they have become the most famous of all boy bands...

You ever watch the show  The Five?...I think it's on Fox...and it's 2 gals and 3 guys talk about anything, from politics to the music scene...I caught them on the aforementioned topic of these boys...and each had a version that was not exactly what I thought they would...the 2 gals were too young to know, but liked Paul....2 of the guys nearly hated 'em...and one was from that era and thought the world of the Beatles...I wonder if that's representative of the people now?...

As we were doing some shopping yesterday, I was listening to Cousin Brucie on XM, the 60's...he was doing a tribute to the Beatles...and NO!, the five are wrong...the people still love 'em...

On to sports...
Pebble Beach....to me looks miserable...cold, wet, and windy...at least they have the greens fixed...a couple of years back they were half dead...but this bloke, Jimmy Walker, survived....had a 6 stroke lead most of the day...and had to par the last for the win....and did...for his 3rd V of this young season....what?...this is unchartered waters...only Tiger and Lefty have done such a thing in modern times...does he figure at the Masters?...you better put him in the short list of possibles...I am...

It's the time of the season that the NBA owners start scratching their billion dollar heads and clean up their teams...the 1st casualty?...former PDX coach, and now former Piston coach, Maurice Cheeks...the rest of the domino affect will start soon....figure at least 3 to go...

The Pads had a meet and greet show out at Petco this past Saturday...I want to believe that they are going to be better...so depends on the catcher...well, that's the start...if Grandal can go, we will be on the right track...and if...iff...the starting pitching staff holds up...and iff...we score more than 4 a games...???...

I find it humorous that all the teams that are in the hunt for a crown, now refer to the method of the Seahawks...defense wins championships, is the cry...lordy, Pete Carroll is now infamous...from abandoning his USC school in penalties galore...to landing a job in the NFL, unscathed...it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth...sorry you Seattle believers, but it is true...he was a skunk that left an odor...for others to smell...and got away...

And...
The Artist's Party was a huge success...hosted by the incredible Mackles...but I found it odd that most of it was held on the outside deck, 32 stories above the ground...my oh my, how I have changed about that...and the night was spectacular...the view was incredible...you could see all the way to Mexico...

Finally, the latest version of the Bachelor is tonight...as Juan Pablo makes his way through the ladies of the show...we have our favs...and I'm not sure it's who he does...ha ha...it's TV kids...just TV...in color and HD....take that Ed!...
