Festival of Lights

No, silly, not THAT one!...Clark, I mean your's is awesome...BUT...the REAL...one...the one that dominates the bay front...San Diego's own....Festival of Lights...
We were a pack of Pinncaleites, 10 of us....gathered down at the Fish Market...on the deck...had a set of wines...some more than others...ate some bread, butter, cheesy bread, and smoked fishes...and watched a mahvelous parade of boats...lit up by Xmas lights...very, very cool...coupled with a gang of gals, we then sang Xmas songs...yes...old and young partied hardy...and yes, people not of SD, it is freezing here, too...got down to 47*...it's all relative...fortunately, the biz had outdoor heaters a blazing...ho ho ho...

Break up the Bolts!...ripped a new one to NY...like the Giants...these Vegas guys know stuff...had the totally unpredictable Chargers winning in a totally unpredictable league...a low blow by one of the Trib's writers....suggesting that every time the Giant's QB Eli Manning hit the field the locals vociferously boo him...and they did...reminder here...when Eli was drafted way back when, he refused to come and play at SD...and has yet to beat the Bolts....ever...and the streak continues...

Bowl bids...in the very curious land of college football...where money drives the schools all around the country....and it engulfs the presidents of the universities as well...those who think that they are better than you or me...and never, ever make poor decisions...they just turn their heads and accept what ever $ is given their school...it's all bad...BUT...it is the law of the land...so, if you have a 6-6 record or better, you probably get an invitation to one of them bowls...really...

So how did your favorite fare?...the BSBCS champ game has what I predicted yesterday...FSU vs Auburn...the Ducks go to San Antonio to face Texas...hmmm....boring...and the Beavs?...go to Hawaii to play coach less Boise St...at least that would be a good trip...and SDSU?...rolls on up to Idaho to play in the Tater Bowl....to play Buffalo?...the Bills got in a bowl?...cool...

Tiger be human...not really sure it was a melt down, or Zach Johnson flat out beat him...anyhoo...it was great TV...and for those of you Tiger haters...you had your day...as Zach rode a hot streak of great wedge shots...one super great...a hole out...and beat the best golfer in the world...I guess he is...in OT...

For those of you who crucified Carrie for her performance, I would have lurved to see Julie Andrews do that part...LIVE!...I'm just saying...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
