Paradise

OK, kids, this is the last full day for this year in PARADISE...this is a pix from the Lanai Ferry...Lahaina...

Met up with fellow Pinnacle owner, Ronnie Allen, at Whaler's Village last eve...go figure...at Lailani's...very cool...going to take him to this cool breakfast place this am in Napili today...if the line isn't too long...you know, last day stuff...got to clean out the refer and all...hate to pack all the stuff back up...

Actually had an off type day yesterday...bouts of the wet stuff...however, it was still 85*...and we swam...and then went down to the beach and watched the surf and all...all, was at least 4 turtles bobbing and weaving all about...also, did a road trip up north...gandered at the spot where the Pro Tour has a stop...Kapalua Plantation Course...extremely awesome Maui views...and then stopped at a "locals" lunch spot...had a great teriyaki chicken mixed plate...I would have those daily...

I see the Pads lost in OT to the DBacks...Gregerson, huh...duh...he gave up the winning run, of course...am not a fan...this is an area of concern for the next year, right GM?...of course, if we score but one run the entire game...chances are slim of winning, anyway...duh...

Finished my book on the scandals in College Football...the picture of the coach at WSU, Mike Leach, is not too pretty...old school management...does that work anymore?...and this notion of recruitment in the inner cities?...don't have an answer...

Fillibuster...what century are we in?...sometimes I get confused at how this Congress can do what they do...so does the guy get extra $ from his lobbyist for his time talking?...I mean, c'mon...

Somehow, and I mean somehow...my FF Football team is 2-1...lordy, I have turrible players...I know from the past...don't touch your lineup for three games...and this is what I have done...did make some changes for this week...the byes have begun...

Am now reading a book about Linda Rondstadt...my age...and the times she had....started in Tucson..."A Different Drum"...love the Nook...

The new operating system for the iphone is real slick, kids...makes it feel like you have a new phone...for free!...I'm not kidding...

Will never, ever, get used to this time zone...and, I get rotten sleep here...for some reason...OK, there is another negative...well, and not having our pup with us...thank God for Tom and BJ Mackle for taking her in for the entire time!...now this, is an example of great friends...

The UN...at least it still is in the works...not exactly sure if it ever accomplishes anything...but the foundation is there...just in case...imagine the police protection on that structure...NYC must have the best...they must...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
