Toughen Up

The last 2 games of the Pads were way too similar...big leads going into the 9th...and we blew 'em...luckily last night we had a 5 point cushion...here's the deal...our closer is on the disabled list...so we have been using our setup pitcher as THE GUY...well, he didn't have it on Sunday...and last night we went with a former starter...and he got lit up bad...4 straight smashes...and 3 runs given up...here's my beef...Mgr Buddy Black stayed with him way, way , way too long...after the 2nd batter he should have been replaced...that's what the Giant's Bochy would have done....and quite frankly, most of the good ones would have done...if you lose, do it doing the right way...

On the other hand, we ARE SCORING RUNS!...and are putting ourselves in position to be a better than average team...yup, it is true...Logan Forsythe came back up due to the injury to Gyorko...had a great game, including a massive HR...shoot we scored 7 runs...and...once we have all our parts back we should be in contention...we have one spot I'm still worried about...our 5th starter...if Luebke can come back...problem solved...of course, we have to be managed correctly, too....

Fast and Loud...I have told you about this show...where these two blokes out of Dallas run a fix it up car shop...I like it a lot...and...they left us last season with a teaser...duh...when they bought a Maserati for $400,000...that was all crashed up...and the first episode is guiding us through the painful rehab of the car...it will cost around another $300,000 to get it fixed right...what?...who has that kind of $?...and that's the deal, Gas Monkey doesn't...fix it and it cost them $700,000!   and try to make a profit?...

The Bachelorette...dude, don't cry...it is only the 3rd or 4th episode...you can't be that much in love to cry after being kicked off the island...c'mon dude...NOOOOO....

We did a Julian jaunt yesterday...what a wonderful trip back into time...it is up in the mountains...takes us about an hour and a half...when it snows in the San Diego area...this is where is does...believe it or not...and it does every winter...really...they actually have seasons up there...and they are known for their pies...apple ones...so, we bought one of them and a cherry one to boot...going to take them to SB this weekend...

A Big Beaver week...as they won to get into the College World Series...this is what they do well at...this baseball stuff...and one of their former football guys keeps getting himself into it...Ochcinco was in court...trying to work a plea deal...patted his attorney on the rear, like a football move...and the judge hit the roof...threw out the plea and threw him into the pokey for 30...sorry I gave more lines to that, rather than the baseball...

Tiger and Sergio shook hands yesterday on the range...bury the bone?...naw, it was cursory and uncomfortable...the Open starts Thursday at Merion...huge amounts of rain...expect better than average scores...whatever that means...

What the Belichek is going on?...I mean c'mon...the mostly untouchable Tebow is reportedly in tow with New England...what?...I thought he couldn't play in the league...so why?...

The Spurs are FAVORED over the Heat for tonight's game...what?...
The Pads are dogs again...with Cashner going...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
