Really Good Story

Sometimes a good story comes about...wait, a REALLY GOOD STORY...as I was watching a multitude of sporting events this past week...you know, bedridden...at the bottom of the screen popped up "Upset Alert"...this is the latest scheme for the networks to keep you informed...cool, really...something about Louisville...so, wow, I thought the top ranked guys hoop team was behind...nope, it was the gals team doing the unthinkable and unimaginable...beating the top ranked Baylor Bears...who have this gigantic 6'8" center...a feat that would be one of the biggest upsets in the history of gals hoops...
So I turn the channel and find it on ESPN something...not the regular feed...and Louisville is using a triangle and two on the big gal...OK, big deal?...well, yup...they are triple teaming HER, and zoning the other two...what?...never, ever seen that before...OK, but this story isn't about the method to this madness...it's about the makeup of the Cards...
The star of the team...looks to be Native American...I'm always interested if that's the thing...you know, as most of us were destroyed years ago by you white people...wait...I digress...I know there was a player on the guys OSU hoop team that was, too...thanks, Cliffy, for that info...anyway...

This player is dang good...Shoni Schimmel...handles the ball and can hit huge 3's...and absolutely NO FEAR!...hey, they hang on and win the game...so, it has been called the biggest upset ever...
Off they go to take on another power house, Tennessee...so this time I'm watching it...just turns out that Shoni is Native...actually from Oregon!...what?...Umatilla Res...wow...and there is another on the starting five...another Native...her younger sis, Jude...and she is dang good, too...the game is a thing of beauty...in the gals rules, there is no 10 second penalty to get it over half court...so these two lead the Cards by controlling the ball, full court!....they destroy Tennessee and make the final 4...you must watch this...it's that good...

Other stuff...

There is this video of the Rutger's Coach constantly throwing balls at his players...not once, but often...he is the son of the Blazer's announcer, Mike Rice...info just for pertinence to you PDX fans...well, he will get the axe, soon...

Vardish of the Rangers was one out away from earning a perfect game versus Houston...gave up a line drive through his legs to end the effort...

DWTS eliminated Wynonna...had to be...she was decidedly the lowest scoring "star"...

Idol is on tonight...no ballads is the theme...boo...I like the slow stuff...it's so hard to do the rocking numbers...

Are you watching the Voice?...really fun...lurve the banter back and forth between the likable judges...

Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson are going to tour together...seems odd, right?...coming to Chula Vista in October, I think I heard...

Speaking of tours...Humphrey's announced their '13 lineup...46 shows...they always add a few more...no CSN or Beach Boys...yet...does include the Doobies, Boz Scaggs, Huey Lewis, Bill Cosby, Canned Heat, Chicago, Bill Maher, Willie Nelson, Steely Dan, amongst many others...

We actually laid out in the sun yesterday...haven't done that since Vegas...
