Being down 10-6 there were a lot of people counting the V for the US...not me...as there were some odd early pairings that Capt. Love sent out...which, if they backfired, and they did...would give the Euros...MOMENTUM...they had 4 quick wins and had tied up the games...boom, like that!...And to put Tiger out last, it was a complete waste of a point...and the enthusiasm that was needed...
The veterans were just awful...the two Capt. Love picks played excruciating slow and bad...in fact, they choked up like all of us duffers do on a regular basis...Furyk, has just completed a year full of failed finishes...and Stricker...OMG..he could not have had a more untimely space of his life to lose his game...
And the boomer boyz...Bubba just got beat by Luke Donald, who played marvelously...but Wade, his shankdom was legendary...who does he thank for that?...his lord and...stop that...
The good parts...Dufner, the Johnsons,...and what about the pair of Lefty and what's his name...great the 1st two days...BUT...what's his name had to take his "emotional act" against the world's numero uno, Rory...no chance...and Lefty, got overtaken at the end, by Justin Rose, who hit 3 straight bombs to win it...by the way, I would have put Tiger against Rory...
2nd of all...most of the Euro blokes now live in the US of A...ha ha...it's like me playing for Oregon against the SoCal boyz...
3rd...it was cool to see a German, Kaymer, make the putt that won it...as the scribes have crucified another German way back when, when he missed to lose...
4th...terrific venue in that course in Chicago...great finishing holes...Medina...
5th...when the match is secured, ridiculous to have the last group have to finish their match...
6th...the Euros playing with Seve looking over their shoulders...that's not fair...
7th...for being such a great competitor, why hasn't Ian Poulter won more?...is it the Colin Curse?
8th...do the Euros take the crown back with them to Florida?...
And finally, it was high drama and I lurved it...
Now, for some more mundane things...
Crosby, Stills, and Nash were great...they sounded better than the last time I saw them...I was talking to a bloke who had seen them 40 years ago...he said they sound better now..."Wasted on the Way"...
Go figure the NFL...the Bolts destroyed the Chiefs...for some unknown reason, our D decided to send more than 3 guys at their QB...didn't do that at all against the Falcons the week before...duh...still...our QB Rivers...well...the jury is out...
Tough way to close out the home season for the Pads...up 5-4 in the 9th against the subs of SF...and our closer Street, blew his first save of the year...
Ducks and Beavers in the top twenty again...don't see that changing as they play the Wash teams this week...UO number two and OSU 14 and 17...still dang good!
Sooo many people wanted my M Peach Tee I had on last night...got it in '06...ha ha..."is that on sale here?", I was asked countless times...
Didn't I just pay the bills?
