Cheers to the Olympic hoop teams for their winning of the GOLD...the gals had little problem, albeit a bit of a struggle in the semis against the huge Aussies...and the guys...well...taken to the limits with Spain...also, a huge inside presence...and led by Doctor Flop, Rudy Fernandez...almost got the upset of upsets...
Lebron James, as I said about 2 weeks ago, is now the best player in the world...did it at crunch time...and a less talked about thing...the emergence of Kevin Love...I'm going to tell you right now, the US does not win that without him...he solidified the middle...weird to see, Melo, James, and Love battling the Espana giants...our C Chandler was a waste pick, no factor...so, good on the red, white, and blue!

The PGA...Rory in a cake walk...McIlroy...wins his 2nd major at the age of 23...only Jack Nicklaus has done it sooner...24 putts in 18 holes...that'll do it kids...Tiger just can't get the putter going...doesn't it seem like a bunch of no names throw decent scores in this T?...coming in 2nd was David Lynn...who?...lost in the mix was a very fine 69, by none other than John Daly...and did you see the ruling on Carl Petterson?...a leaf moved on his take away in the non-grounding area...seems a bit much of a penalty...and really, knocked him out...didn't we have something like this in last year's final on Dustin Johnson?...sometimes golf gets too much...I mean the ticky tacky rules...

The Pads finally lose...after 7 straight and 11 straight at Pitt...after going 5-0 early on....and, C Nick Hundley, got back to the bigs...due to the injury to our rookie C...and he still stinks...sorry, but it is true...he hit terribly in his demotion...and there was no reason to bring him up...he didn't earn it...don't get me wrong...he has ability...but is soo lost he brings all else down...SD travels to Atlanta for a very difficult series...and according to the line, are prohibitive underdogs...

Watched the CBS interview of the Romney/Ryan ticket yesterday...they better not travel together 'cuz Paul speaketh better than Mitt...good luck GOP...I do want a good choice....so much better than Sarah...but Paul has to find a way to back off...can he do that?...time will tell us...number 2 can only hurt you...

Del Mar had a series of long shots come in....in so much as there is a carryover in the Pick 5 and Pick 6...not often, if ever, that has occurred...figure Wednesday will be a big betting day...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
