Eery

A few days ago...this is kind of eery, I changed my profile picture to the one with me sitting down at the Kansas City Grill...where the bar scene was filmed for the movie "Top Gun"...here in SD...and the news out of LA, is that the movie's director, Tony Scott, leaped to his death from a bridge...more info pending...but...can't imagine getting that down to just quit...anyway, this is the last day I'll use it, in his honor...

Global warming?...a great article on the migration of "weeds" in the US of A on the "Sunday Morning" show...as one type keeps moving north, due to the warming up of the continent...makes sense...as the weed can continue to grow where it is warmer...and...that in the extreme north of the Earth, there is actually cracks in the ice...first time since they have had visible proof available...are you becoming a believer?...

For all the brouhaha about the lack of importance of the pre-season games in the NFL...even with the replacements refs...there are some very good stories...like...the Colt's Andrew Luck, is the real deal...and the move to let Peyton go was a good one...and the Jet's QB controversy continues on...and the Skin's RG III is a right on target...and, well, there are other rookie QB's that are going to be starters...

For those of you who like your fruit...watch out for cantaloupe...salmonella outbreak...and the more I listen to the report...20 states affected...the batch appears to be from Indiana...really?...it's made there?...dirt on the outside of the fruit is the culprit...so they say...

The Prez race...the latest info has it neck and neck...that 6% of the people are UNDECIDED...and they will decide the winner...ha ha...isn't it up to the ELECTORAL COLLEGE?...says me...this could end up in that archaic institution to decide our Prez...really...so time to start lobbying those peops who make up the EC...think both of the parties aren't doing that right now?...if I think of it, you know they do...

The Padres beat the Giants to get one of three...on Military Sunday...where SD honors the many military in the area...it's a real cool thing...there are two or three squadrons or battalions....er, a bunch of 'em...in uniform...and in the 3rd inning, the entire crowd rises and applauds them...as their military song is played...and...SD won 7-1...all good stuff here...well, at least Sunday...

And finally...the death of another star...Scott Mckenzie...the singer of the 60's hippie anthem, "If You're Going To San Francisco"....absolutely have always lurved that song...be sure to wear some flowers in your hair...
