Prez Hiztory

In the not too distant past...this country had the choice of choices...for our Prez...the country was at war in Vietnam...segregation was coming to an end...politicians could still muffle the media...and in the real world of the people...the country was in chaos and anti-war protests were at a new high...

It was 1972...the GOP had their guy, none other than Richard Nixon...who had his way with the press...you cross him and he x-d you out of any White House conferences...and pretty much ran any which way he wanted to get what he wanted...and this war thing was getting to him...
the Demos...were trying like H to find somebody to beat Nixon...started with Muskie...they got rid of him, because he teared up talking about his wife...too weak...then, George McGovern...anti-war guy...and they had this guv from Alabama, too...George Wallace...what?...so much for integration...

The Demos settled on McGovern...and he chose Tom Eagleton...as his VP...and the press had no limits on the donkies...and found he had shock treatment in his past...remember that?...so George had to axe him...he then chose a member of the Kennedy Clan, Sargent Shriver...and the ticket was complete...

With one of the lowest turnouts ever, Nixon won in a landslide...only Massachusetts and DC voted for McGovern...and that was that...UNTIL...

the Washington Post bucked the system....and investigated this little break in crime at the Watergate Hotel in DC...it was the only media system with balls enough to do so...and the rest is history...

and now...
I am telling you to follow the money...for both candidates...get out of your comfort zone and do some investigation....with the Supreme Court allowing the "Super Pacs"...there are ways to hide your donations...to bypass some of the more open lobbying practices in the past...take a hard look at who is giving...and what they would be getting if their guy gets in...and it's not you or I...it's the .005% of the population that have the real big dough to hide and play with...and coerce the winner...you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours...now, I'm fired up...AGAIN!

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
