I'll Have Another...no...the hoss...who came out of nowhere and won the 138th running of the Kentucky Derby...$32.60 on the nose...beat the fav Bodemeister by a horse's head...just a great race and spectacle...my pick?...Creative Cause came in 5th...out of 20...did not bet a dime on the race...
When a bloke signs for a boatload of cash in big league baseball...along with all the dough comes high scrutiny and pressure...two guys who are falling flat...Albert Pujols has been a huge disappointment for the Angels...I mean they spent over $100 million bucks on him...and he is barely hitting .200, with zero home runs...ZERO...and Heath Bell...runs to Florida to get the money, and has blown 4 out of 7 save opps...hey, they can still count their dollar bills...and live forever rich and rewarded...
NBA playoffs...I am eating my words with the way Derek Fisher is playing...doing a bang up job helping the Thunder (Supersonics) waltz through the 1st round of the west...something about the fact that former jailblazer, Zach Randolph, is still strutting his stuff on the floor irritates me...boooo...the Mavs getting swept...sweet...a loooong way to go...
My driver appears to be busted...makes a click sound when I hit it...so, now, I go back to my new R-11 and try to tweak it to hit it...it is really stiff...so, not that I'm not struggling anyway, my game resembles that of the Padres...little hope, but a lot of energy...
Speaking of the Pads...they are turrible...their margin of error is so slight...they can't score enough to make mental and physical mistakes...and they lead the league in both of those...so the overall chance of winning?...very dim and very poor...they got 25,000 out to the ball yard yesterday, 'cuz they gave out free SD tee shirts...they are pretty good at giving away things and games...boooooooo....and, I still haven't gone out to see them live this season...
PGA...the game itself centers about the condition of the way Tiger Woods plays...the other pros hardly feel that way...they do like the fact that he is involved...it helps the cash flow...but here's the truth...he is just another bloke anymore...he is trying to find his confidence...that which happens in golf all the time...whether you are a scratch golfer or a hacker like me...Webb Simpson played with him in the latest T and whupped him bad...longer and better...and like so many others, are passing Tiger...don't feel sorry for him, as he has enough dough to do whatever he wants for the rest of his life...will he ever get it back?...sure, just like any other guy...but never will be dominant again...
NFL...so much talk about concussions...it is a fact in the game...too many guys hit with their helmet...and it is a violent game, kids...it is an outlet for the very aggressive guys in the world to let their power out...you know, you have the light weight offensive guys getting chased and drilled to the ground by the bigger and stronger guys...it is the present day "gladiator sport"...wonderful to watch, but a danger to play...and there has been a number of players with apparent concussion affects...doing odd things to themselves...like suicide...among other effects...this is an ongoing issue...and throw in the concept of the Saints, paying a bounty to "take out" players...well, it is just beginning to unfold...
On a much, much, lighter note...the Beach Boys just released a single of new material...and it is fantastic...check it out!
