Traditions

As our family has dwindled down in size due to natural causes...we think back of all the traditions that were on the table...large family dinners are of the past...now, we celebrate the day by going to Lael's at the Grand Hyatt Regency on the Bay....so easy for us...a short two block walk...and it's the Brunch of all Brunches...unlimited champagne with every food you can imagine...today is extra special as it is so warm...will get into the mid-70's...finish it up with a walk down on the bay front...Cris, Leila, Marsh, and I...wow, talk about a small gathering...but, just right....

Since the NBA settled it's differences with management and the players...the season kicks off today....and I am mildly interested...especially with the west coast teams...you do know we get most all the LA Lakes and Clips games...but, I am still a Rip City believer at heart...

There is a huge contingent of Texans here for the Holiday Bowl...the opponent is the Cal Bears, of whom I have seen zero fans...

I know you've been waiting for this...but it looks like the mighty Gaslamp Sun will win the fantasy football league...up by 6 with two more members to go...my QB Brees and the GB D...and my opponent has it's kicker...looks very promising...

The aftermath...the finality of the coaching of the Chargers...there needs to be a clean sweep of the present guys and their attitudes...including the GM...it will be an interesting month or two as this process should and will go on...

Refereeing in the NBA, or anywhere...when they are more important than the game...they need to be relieved of duties...in particular, Joey Crawford...watching the Knicks/Celts game...and he has taken over the entire mood of it...c'mon NBA...booooooooooo.....only 6 technical fouls, thus far.....booooooooooo.....

I see many of you are emphasizing the meaning of the season...and I say to you...believe...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
