Black Friday

I'm thinking there is little reason to get caught up in the mess of "Black Friday"...due to the invention of online shopping...which is exactly the origin of the term...back in Philadelphia by the cops there...referring to the amount of foot and car traffic that totally clogged up the city...mid 60's...then, it got sucked up by the media and it emerged as a new motto for businesses actually making money right after Thanksgiving, with the "sales" and crazy opening hours used...me?...I would go for the free donuts and coffee...but, not now...there are plenty of great deals online...unless...you have to get out there...

Did you get your fill of football yesterday?  I didn't get to see the Pack/Lion game...as I thought that Detroit would get the upset...but...the Lions imploded, their Oregonian tackle got thrown out for a stupid act, the replacement RB got injured, and the team had way too many turnovers...to beat the Packers...by the way, Detroit is on a free fall... worse than the Bolts...the Cowboys found enough to win at the buzzer...in the Har-bowl....the elder beat the youngin'....kind of boooorrring....and talk about bad luck, Texas A & M, lost another game in the final stanza...after scoring the go ahead TD with just a couple of minutes left...albeit to a horrible call that favored the Longhorns...boo...

How was your turkey?  We went to Ruth's Chris....packed in like sardines...the meal was marginal (rolled turkey)...the service was great...the view awesome...there were no dishes to wash...there was no mess to clean up...all in all, a push...well, favors go to the restaurant...should have had the rib eye...missed our boy and his gurl...

Does Costco celebrate BF?  We are thinking about heading over there...maybe a huge mistake...maybe participate, not celebrate...and get this...our gift to each other, is that we are going to have the condo painted...right now it is stark, clean white...it will be a major change...and we already have started to question each other's sanity...connecting on the right colors may be a test on our marriage skills...

Christmas decorations today, and, well...it's that time of year...

BREAKING NEWS...Lamar Odom, a LA Laker forward...who recently married Khloe...and is still hitched...not the other one...is reportedly signing to a hoop contract with the Besiktas Team in Turkey, in this non-season of the NBA...the rumor is that there is going to be a new E Show...the Kardashians Feast In Turkey...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
