Darren the Dude

Darren Clarke, the dude who won the British Open...hitting the knock down shots with precision...and taking advantage of one bad swing by Dustin Johnson...and withstood the charge by Lefty...I can't believe this is his 1st major...anyhoo, great job, bloke!

You know, I'm not a fan of low scoring sports games...thus, soccer is not a fav...but the interest in the US versus Japan was intriguing...the US had many shots on goal that could have won this...but, the Japanese found a way to survive and then win it in the goal shooting OT...it's like playing a game for 2 hours or so, and then have a free throw contest to decide the victor...goofy stuff in my book...staying on the low scoring theme...the ugly Pads found another way to lose...this time, by a SUICIDE SQUEEZE!  What are we in, high school?  And the lack of ability to throw anyone out...well, that is not major league now, is it...

Trade bait...it is written, the likes of Heath Bell and Mike Adams, figure they could not be making the return trip to San Diego...as the Pads head out to Florida for a road trip...Ryan Ludwig could be involved...get serious, there is little SD will get for them, other than prospects...which helps out none...for now...I have beat this like an old nag, for sure...

Which brings me to a movie we saw yesterday, the Secretariat...a Disney thing...which in turn, brings me to Del Mar...I am so excited about the upcoming season which starts on Wednesday...pick 3 is my fav...

We are heading off to the Apple Store for a class on Marsh's new Mac...transferring all her stuff from the Windows base to the Mac...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
