All Star Break

Where do I begin on this...first of all, the trade to let Adrian Gonzalez go...well, he has become the best hitter in baseball...now that he has the center stage in Boston...look at his stats...leading the AL by 20 points...surrounded by real sluggers, to boot...which he was not in San Diego...and what did the Pads get for him?  Youngsters, real youngsters...not a good trade...especially that SD needs pop now, NOW!  A GM blunder...
In all of sport the confidence factor is so huge...and the SD boyz are lacking in this...being shut out on a regular basis, with no one guy that can come up with clutch hits...what happened?  Last year, of course, they had AGonzo, but the little guy, David Eckstein, had many such clutch hits...where does that come from now?   Fact is, it isn't there...
So what?  It will be a fire sale prior to the July 31st deadline...I guess ML really goes by that date, unless your are Boston, NY, or Philly...look for Ludwig, Bell, Qualls, Venable, one of our pitchers...to go...and maybe more...hey, and where on earth is the GM's key pick up in Brad Hawpe?
OK, the one thing that should happen, is to let the rookie GM Hoyer, go...GO!...he has had his play station moment as the boss, and he has failed miserably...what a mess this team is...a real mess...

My thoughts about our trip to Cocoa Beach...we were so lucky to miss all the weather that the forecasters had on the net...it said every day that there was thunder and lightning...never happened...in fact everyday was 89* or 90*...and the rides of the boogie boarding were awesome...if you have never done it, you are missing out big time...the concierge asked me, "you were boarding?", like I'm old or something, I guess...the 4th fireworks and shuttle launch were fabulous...and we will go back next year...

You think that the tiny little country of Korea doesn't dominate the LPGA tour?  2 of the ladies are in a playoff for the Major in Denver...

Can you believe that major league baseball actually gives the home team advantage to the winner of the all star game?  What?

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
