NBA Playoffs

Finally...the way too long NBA regular season is coming to a close...and the playoffs begin on Saturday...and due to the lineups changes and all...well...I'm pulling against teams rather than for them...like the Heat and Knicks...boo...
but...I am in it to win it with the Blazers...hate the Mavs and it's a perfect 1st round match up...and, as I have been saying for some time...the Lakers will not get the crown...LA should beat New Orleans, but the PG situation will make it very interesting...the Thunder (Supersonics) and Nugget series will be fun...
So who do I pick?  from the East I have...the Bulls...from the West I have...the Spurs...oops, that's chalk...but...that's what I got...

And you think I'm kidding about the anemic Pads?  They did pull out a win last eve to salvage one against the Reds...but catch these awesome numbers...
the new GM's pickups in the last year and a half...
Cantu...one of AG's replacements...hitting .160
Hawpe...the other AG one...hitting .138 with ONE rbi...
Hudson...took over for Xstein...batting.317...this be the good one...
Maybin...took over for Gwynn (.296 for LA)...at .243...even steven...
Bartlett...took over for Tejada (.244 for SF)...at .129...well...
and Ludwick...my oh my...at .114...this is the clean up hitter?

Off to Houston...maybe the heat will help...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
