Masters Champ?

Yup, he's the real deal...Rory McIlroy...on cruise control...much like Tiger was a decade ago...ripping apart the course and the field in the Masters...hitting the ball where he wants and hitting the ball a long way...well...the pundits have been calling for a new wave...and they are here...and he leads 'em...I know, you want an American to dominate...but he's only 21...woah...that's right...no catching him today and just enjoy his craft...what about the afore mentioned Tiger?  Couldn't make a putt...so close, but was a victim of many lipouts...still, he is not beyond making a charge and getting close...but WILL NOT overtake Rory...nope...

The Padres...we had the double header last night against the Dodgers...a sweep of the two by LA...let's see...gots to be kind here...it will be a long season for SD, as I have already predicted...just where have they improved?  NOWHERE!  The 1st baseman has been abysmal...barely hitting over .030, yes, that's right...the 2nd baseman makes boner plays that a high schooler would get benched for, and is not hitting...the SS is a push with what we had last year in Tejada...Ludwig has been the biggest flop in the history of the franchise...actually swings AFTER the ball hits the catcher's mitt...I'm not lying...and he is hitting like .100...the CF is a great looking specimen, but is floundering with the rest of these underachievers...the catcher has been hitting real well, but remains a very poor defender...doesn't block the ball...and the Bums saw they could steal on him...he was pretty much the diff in the games last night...the pitching is a notch lower than last...the pen is the same, the only bright spot...boy, am I glad I didn't get season tix...guess I wasn't so kind...

The visitor's phenomena...one of the more intriguing things that I am aware of at the Pads games...just how many opponents jerseys and caps are worn...at least 50% of the crowd was dressed in Dodger's gear...our friends even showed up in LA stuff...what?  The Phillies, the Red Sox, the Giants, the Cubs, the Mets...all of them are here when they are here...now I have been told the Latinos lurve the Dodgers, so that's a reason...and it was apparent...but really...the San Diegans just don't buy into the Pads...well, I do, but not a fan of the management...hey SD, you gots to pay the piper to get what you want...

NBA playoffs next week...go Blazers!

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
