Aztec to Saint

I suppose it's time I talk up the other side...of the super bowl...the Saints...really, look the two top teams the entire season were the Saints and the Colts...at one time they were both looking at perfect seasons...
The coach of NO?  None other than a former San Diego St. Aztec...his story began after his playing days concluded in the WFL or something like that...SDS had an opening as a grad assist. and they were looking far and wide...circa '88...lo and behold a call came in from London...yup that London...from Sean Payton saying he'd like an interview...that's where he finished up playing...gave his references and said check him out...he persisted and SDS checked him out...he called again...they said you get here in 5 days and we'll give you the interview...he flew across the pond, drove across the US in a beater, literally pulled up to the interview in a smoking car...in the 5 days...SDS laughed and signed him on the spot...and the rest of his journey is history...by the way, 2 other of his young Aztec rookie coaches are still with him...coaching in the super bowl...
The Pads needed a back up catcher to fill out their roster...if he passes his physical it is going to be a fella from Colorado, Toreiaba...by the way....he may be the starter...he's that good...
The Lakers have one obstacle in their way in the west...the Nuggets...they got beat at home to them...now LA goes to PDX tonight and take on the curious Blazers...lose 2 in a row?
