No Mas

I suppose I thought he would never play again...then wait...the game was moved outdoors...and it was a blizzard...and Bret Favre said that he had to play...play...he's still a boy in his mind...and he'd try the shoulder, so beat up for a 40 year old guy, or whatever age he is...yup...so there he went out to play...again...against da Bears...on Monday night...and promptly lead his Viks down for a passing TD...and thud...like a guy his age...eventually got pummeled and rammed into the freezing ground...and laid there...stay down Bret...no mas...

For a sport that has to be hanging on for dear life...horse racing..that, the sport of kings...that gets good press around the Kentucky Derby time...the feel good story of the year, was the female, Zenyatta...which had it's OWN winning streak of 19...goes into the Breeder's Cup, acclaiming to be it's last...before going into breeding status...just misses at the finish line, and was the best losing race of the year...

And for my commentary of the day...do you have to win to win?  Way back in my coaching days, I coached to win...always...of course, the happiest your players are, usually, are when we won...in my younger days, it was at all costs...then I had some teams that no matter how hard we worked, we couldn't get the W...did we lose?  I don't think so...we gave it our all and that, my friends, was winning...a side note...I hate when coaches call their players them or they....get off it, it is always WE....

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
