All at once

It's this odd time of the year, where 3 pro sports are played at the same time...it's the beginning of the World Series...where the Giants wear the pride of the National League West against the upstart Rangers...and the oh so boring NFL drudges on with their early season games....and now, the 7 month NBA starts up...is the hockey going, too?  Anyhooo...turn away Shink on this...let's talk about the pro hoops...
The Big 3 in Miami played at Boston last night...the Celts are talented and deep...the Heat are not...LeBron looks OK, but it is a tough sell for me...LA beat a very fast Houston group, which I like a lot...and the PDX Blazers beat up on Phoenix, a team they could not get past last year...Batum has improved and they are a playoff team...better that the Lakers?  Naw, but nevertheless, fun....
Collegiate hoops....in all the years of the AP top whatever, SDS has never...never...been ranked in their top 25....and it appears that the Aztecs will finally make it...that makes two teams on the rise over there...
OK, I'm back Shink...the Giants will win this in 5 or 6....yup....that's right...too much pitching for the American League...my son has taken in a couple of games over at SF this year and those fans are passionate...much more than down here...
By the way, BSU played a game on Tuesday night!?  What's that all about...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
