Terrific Thursday

Just a lot of good (?) stuff that has gone on:
  1. The Padres won game 2 at Tampa....scored 5 runs off 3 dingers...great pitching by the struggling Kevin Correia and the pen (who has not)...moved to 2 1/2 games up in the west...
  2. The Prez fired his general that opened up in...get this...the Rolling Stone ...replaced him with the type of guy that will just do his job...
  3. The USA soccer team...pulled a miracle in the extra minute of their game with Algeria...I'm not sure what the rules of soccer are...well, I have an idea, but the rulings leave me baffled...no wonder there are so many riots at these matches...
  4. Bachelor Jake is a flake...what is with the mess with his babe Vienna?  The stories of this duo are legendary...cry me a river...
  5. NBA draft...of course I am all eyes on what the Blazers do...rumor out of PDX is that they are moving Rudy for a higher draft pick...another, is that they are working a deal for PG Paul of N.O.....whatever, they'd like to pick up a QB for the team...is Canby staying? ...is Oden back?...lots of Q's....
  6. I briefly went here yesterday, but the SD city council approved more looks...in building the new Charger's stadium a few blocks away from me...huge...
  7. My oldest bro Bill, has made an offer in Little Italy...terrific view and hope he gets it...who'd a thunk he'd move out here...
  8. Southwest Air is offering big time deals...today is the last day...must travel from early September to October, I think...check it out...
  9. I think that the Mets owe Jerry Seinfeld an apology for putting your girl, Lady Gaga, in his private box...to get away from her paparazzi...
  10. Try putting all your clothes in a carry on for a week stay in Florida...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
