Road Trip

So we saw this little article in the Sunday Trib about what to do when in SD...it mentioned a road trip to a mountain town northeast of here...so we got into the Solara, top down, and headed east on the 8...almost 2 hours later, with some of it very windey...we came across this far out, rad, cool, hip, little oasis called Julian...as we ambled about the streets and went into the many little shops...filled with whatever, but many things that were of the hippy vintage...Marsh bought 3 such things...kind of got us prepared for CSN tonight...more of that later...this town has the 4 seasons as it hailed big time the day prior...they get up to a couple of feet of snow during their winters...kind of reminded me of a less refined Sisters...anyhooo....their big claim to fame is their apple pies...and they have 3 main bakeries to choose from...that in itself is amazing for such a small town...we settled in at the Julian Pie Co. and had a 1/2 sand and pie special...without a doubt, the best pie I have ever had in my life...I had the original and Marsh had the dutch crumb...and the sandwich was made with real ham and real turkey, if you know what I mean...regardless, we bought a pie and took it home, yup, the dutch crumb...talked to a biker and said the route back was quicker going due west...how do they know all?
Wooden Ships...CSN is on the agenda this eve...I first bought one of their albums back in the late 60's or early 70's...can't remember exactly...and absolutely loved their 3 part harmony...'til this day...I think we have seen them like 7 times and can't wait...it's over at Humphrey's and is in the open air...coolish around here lately, so a jacket will be needed...I'll wear one of my CSN tees and Marsh one of her hip new tops...looking for a funky cap...it's been a long time comin'...
Dancing With The Stars...surprise night with Erin having a great night...Pussy Cat would have finished them all off had she not got the lift right, at the end...Olympian had an off night...the girl judge gave PC a bad rap on the her first dance...booooo...the winner?   Up in the air...PC or Erin...
Finally, the Batchelorette...wow, does Ali have a bunch of LuLu's to pick from...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
