Lakers In A No Doubter

So this was the scenario just a season ago...with your villain, Ron Artest, in the face of your fav, Kobe Bryant....fast forward to this year...the bad boy, now a Laker, tips in the game winner vs. Los Suns at the buzzer and is now the hero...well, not so fast my faithful...Artest took the worst shots possible in the final minute of the game and was very, very, fortunate to grab and release the Bryant air ball...it is said that Phil Jackson is the best coach of all NBA time...he has his hands full with this guy...have to eat some of my words, the last 2 playoff series are mildly interesting...

Padres...they have this Thursday afternoon delight...call it Retro...they put on these hideous uni's that are brown and yellow, reminiscent of Wyoming's sooooo uglies, and promptly, play like them...regardless, they won the St. Louie series and move on to host the surprising Nats...AND are in 1st place by 2 games...and have the best record in the National League...yet, the attendance is hovering around 20 grand...

I know this is like beating a dead horse...but...did you watch the final DWTS? The horrific Kate Gosselin was back on the program and stinking up the place...her attitude is deplorable and just as bad to have to watch...what makes it worse is that she thinks that she is deserving...get her off the TV waves people...but I read an article this am that says that the general public likes to watch her train wreck and likes to hate her...how about that! Not me, it is disgusting and "turn away, you're hideous"...

Idol thoughts redux...my good fellow Snook, remarks about not watching the Idol show anymore, due to the winner in the last 2 seasons not being as deserving as the runner-up...WELL, yes...it is a curious thing...but, there are so many different types actually voting...do you? I'm going to do a reversal of your favorite Survivor, Russell the Rat...got to think the judges get a partial vote...personally, Lee or Crystal, it was a tossup...but back over time, Adam Lambert was way better than ???, forgot his name already, AND, Katherine McPhee was way better than the silver headed foo that won that time...the show itself needs new life...voting process, judges...go to the method of DWTS...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
