Fallen Heroes

So I have felt he was the best ever...and nobody has captured the essence of golf excitement as well as anyone since Arnold Palmer as Tiger Woods...but the mighty has fallen from his perch atop the pedestal...without a doubt, the press has more leeway than ever before...and what we knew of the old stars was probably sugar coated...not now, if you have done something, everyone knows it...with the lens on the mobile phone clicking everywhere...the hero tag may be a thing of the past...
Tiger...the well documented chick magnet episodes...the cursing whenever...the leave me alone attitude...and now...the fallen hero is falling further...he tried, but...he actually quits due to a neck spasm...his coach gives up on him...where is this going?
Griffey Jr.  at the end of his career...he is relegated to a pinch hitter role back at his famed stomping grounds with the Seattle Mariners...in the middle of a game last week, goes back to get a jacket and falls asleep in his rocking chair...yup, snoozed in the middle of the game...

That one just gets me...
