Safety is the Issue

Its the Holiday Bowl! The premiere bowl in San Diego, sorry Poinsettia, but it's true...the Pac-10 rep is Arizona and the Big 12 (?) is Nebraska...the mighty Cornhuskers out of the true midwest...probably one of the best traveling schools in all of D-1 football...well, now, sort of...it seems that Big Red has found it safe enough to send it's football team, but not safe enough to send it's band...what? So in their celebration of success this year, they chose not to have a noise section...oops, I meant sound section...maybe it's because San Diego is so close to Tijuana and the Neb folks have read about all the problems in the Mexican border town...and you know how rowdy band people get...they'd be sneaking out over the border and getting in dangerous situations...can't fault their safety concerns there...now the big bad football boys would never do such a thing...anyhooo, the local Cornhusker fans are up in arms, and are calling for an investigation into the matter...and, are calling for all band alumni to patch together a rep band to help arouse the Neb fervor that is so needed in this big bowl...at least for the parade...and well, if you think of it, most of the fans are alumni anyway...maybe all schools should look into an alumni band in lieu of the school's band...you know, cut costs and for the safety reasons and all...hey, how about alumni cheerleaders?
Sis, boom, bah...
