PDX Blazers, What?

I try to say nothing but positive stuff on my teams...oops, failed on the Pads, but so did they...let's go to the Portland Trailblazers......................................................................................................................................................................
so much for the positive...now the negative...I purchased the NBA package from Cox so I could follow them as much as I want...I'm not so sure I want now...OK, it's early and all that crap but...let's look at what they did to improve themselves in the off season...lost Frye to the Suns (he's starting and scoring at a double digit rate), lost Sergio to the Kings (young gun), signed PG Miller (2nd rate and not a good shooter), signed the ancient Wolverine, Juann Howard (never plays)...so in essence lost 2 young guys for 2 old guys at the same positions...I can't figure out the offense they are running...the posts get in foul trouble every game and they have to go to a small lineup, last night it was Outlaw as a power forward!!! He can't figure out the small forward spot...I digress...the game plans they use become obsolete (every game) and then they go to the real plan...panic...very frustrating and very Donald Duck like...thus my DD of the NBA award...in the news PDX talks about the lack of defense...naw, it's the lack of offense...and was that boos I heard from the Rose Garden last night? Yup it was, and if the adjustments aren't made soon, it will grow louder...DD
Now, back to fun stuff...the Breeder's Cup is this Friday and Saturday at Santa Anita...if you like your horse racing, this is what you live for...unfortunately, I'm not going this year, but will follow it closely...probably the headline is a female, Zenyatta, is challenging the boys in the Classic...and is the favorite!
The Phillies can make the series interesting if they can steal game 6 at NY...won't happen and the Yankees celebrate tonight!
Last day for 70*+ around here...out for breakfast!

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
