Check out the passion that the New Yorkers have for their Yankee baseball team. It is the rage of the television stations (CBS, NBC, ABC, and on and on) as the hosts lament their sorrow as the Yanks lost the 1st game of the Series. And you tell me that there is no connection...
Try to tell the great people in the northwest that there is no relevance as they prepare for their collegiate game of the year, as they host the USC Trojans on Halloween...you think that whole community (and state) are not going to be tuned in to that epic fray?
Just try to tell Cleveland people that King James doesn't dominate the feeling of their city...
Or tell the huge throng of people attending the golf tourney in Georgia called the Masters, that there is no relevance...Tiger who?
Or that playing on a team in high school has no relevance...just go to any small town in any part of the USA on Friday night and not see the greater part of the community in attendance at the football or basketball game...
And you see no relevance...go climb a tree, will ya..."
