So Slappy says..."What's the big deal with the sell off of all the high priced Padres? So what if you try to move the $59 mill (over many years) star pitcher Jake Peavy...so what if you trade (?) your $1.8 mill OF Jody Gerut for a bargain basement OF...so what if everyone knows in the league that you can have any Padre for the right price...so what? Isn't that the same thing that Arnold (the Governor) is doing to the state? Isn't he doing the same type of fire sale to the state owned property? Selling off anything the state owns...like the LA Coliseum or the Del Mar fairgrounds... Has he ever talked about reducing his and his cabinet's salaries? Has Kevin Towers ever talked about reducing his salary to help out? "

The Padres rallied to win their 6th straight last night amidst all of the turmoil caused by Towers...just shows the grit of the players...speaking of rallies, the Aztecs scored 8 in the 8th and came back and beat the Utes in the MWC playoffs...the Nuggets rallied back to upend the Lakers at LA...

I went to the Padre game last night and sat by some Giant fans who bemoaned the fact that the SF club couldn't score runs...they asked about Peavy...whether it's true that the Pads would actually trade the best NL pitcher away? Did you miss Khalil? How does Hoffman still pitch in the league? My answers...Peavy will be traded...just not yet...no Khalil is on his way out of the league...Hoffman is doing mysteriously well....right now... I told him you'll need 3 runs to beat us... My, all true statements don't you think?
