Rendition

On a downer day in sports I want to go to a topic that thoroughly disgusts me...rendition. On the boob tube yesterday former VP Dick Cheney was on Face the Nation, or something like that...I have feared this man for 8 years and his appearance just solidified that thought...his endorsement of the controversial Rush Limbaugh as the leader of the Republican Party turned my stomach...but, let's not go there for now...

Rendition is the act of secreting out a "prisoner" to another nation and have that nation use any means to get information from that person...OK, like torture...I thought that when I grew up the only countries that used that method were the bad guys, Germany, Japan, and Russia...NO! It's still going on and we do it...Cheney boasted that it was successful in pulling out key information from Al Quida prisoners...apparently the only way to do so...

The enemy...whenever another country or in this case militant group, attacks us we will use any method to counter that attack. Torture is part of that counter...but what is acceptable and what is not? There have been months and months of debates by our congress to address the issue...fact is the Bush regime, especially Cheney, has left the building and their legacy with it...

Do rent the movie "Rendition" to get yourself an eyeful of what has been going on...stars include Alan Arkin, Meryl Streep, Jake Gyllenhall, Reese Witherspoon, amongst others...

And now back to Cheney...he has no time for Collin Powell who endorsed Barack Obama for president the last time around and feels he abandoned his party by doing so...thus his endorsing the ridiculous Rush Limbaugh...a fact that leaves me totally in the anger mood...in as much as I am leaving that party if Limbaugh is within 10 miles of party headquarters...

Oh yea, the Padres got swept by the Astros, Tiger played like a mere mortal and lost to Henrik Stenson, the Lakers got beat by Yao-less Houston, and the NFL is seriously considering playing the Super Bowl in London...
