2. AK. With the injury to Tiger Anthony Kim came from the pack and emerged as a major player in the PGA. He continued on to help the USA win the Ryder Cup.
3. Kerry Collins and the Tennessee Titans. Talk about an oldie but goodie. Collins comes back and leads the Titans to a one loss season so far in the NFL.
4. Sarah Palin. OMG! John McCain announces his running mate and the people went ...what? The impact was greater immediately and probably hurt in the long run, but what a story.
5. Raven's Pass upsetting Curlin in the Breeder's Cup. And yes I am sitting on this one and made big bucks at Santa Anita.
6. Brooke Burke. The winner of DTWS and nobody could have predicted it. And her runner up, Warren Sapp, could have shared this spot as well.
7. The Beavs. And now they have one game to go to get in the Rose Bowl. The big victory over USC paved the way to this glorious event. The hated Dux stand in the path...
8. Paula Creamer. The lone American elite in the LPGA. All the other biggies are from Europe, Mexico, and the far east....
9. Trail Blazers. Hang on to your stocking cap. Portland has the deepest bench they have had in years and they play hard every game...
