NCAA is a Mess


I guess it is not corruption...it is a lack of direction...the governing body of collegiate sports...the NCAA...tried to ban a collegiate football player from playing...for betting on his OWN team (s)...it's happened over and over...as he switches schools via the PORTAL...this is so complicated and there are no real laws to govern what is going on...as Marvin Gaye sang 'What's Going On'...

The players get paid...PAID to play...not just the 'full ride scholarships' that once was the lure...the player I started all this about...is a QB, now at Texas Tech...Brendan Sorsby...played for Indiana and...Louisville...rumored to be paid around, get this, $6 million bucks...you read that right...say what?...yes, and this happens throughout the collegiate world of sports...where on earth does this type of cash come from?...alumni...donors...revenue from the gate...and?...

I am talking a lot of money is bet on all the games...BIG TIME $...tell me, that there aren't shady people all over the land...that funnel $ to players... perhaps coaches...might this be part of the wages that the players get?...homes?...cars?...does the notion of the refs getting paid off, too, come into play?...

Obviously, there are no limits to what is given out...and the ruling body, the NCAA, has NO TEETH...this Sorby guy, was sanctioned, but the COURT overruled it...egads...what a bloody mess...

What are the collegiate presidents doing about it?...nothing I can see...might this sound like professional sports, in the guise of college and universities?...the system is simply out of control...

The Horse does not have much of a solution...other than revamp it all...limit the cash flow... penalize the perpetrators with lifetime bans...perhaps form a committee, much like the playoff one...to control the collegiate sports...worth a try...

In the world of the Middle East...the so-called 'CEASEFIRE' is hardly that...as both sides are firing at one another...trump this morning, said that Iran was taking too long...and he is threatening to strike with our military...whatever happened to the 'deal on his desk?'...seems like he may have taken too long...

And yes, in the meantime...the stocks are falling...the prices of everything are skyrocketing...and get this...a truth...the rich fat cats are not affected...it's you and I, that are...a tip of the iceberg... high-end housing sales are soaring...the others, sit unsold...

The Friars...game 2 vs the Reds...we went to bed, as it was lingering on and on...decided in the OT...we lost...guess who was pitching then?...YOU know it if you have been listening to my rants...Matsui...yup...he has BP stuff and a dream for the opponent...case closed...

Game 4 of the NBA finals...in NYC...and no, the poopah will NOT be in attendance...so the streets are back open and the gaiety shall continue on in the Big Apple...the line?...another 1 1/2 fav for the Knicks...just gotta think that Scott Foster is on this one...(referee)...

The vote yesterday...the highlights?...Maine's race for the Senate...the Demo (with the baggage) won easily...and in South Carolina, the Guv race...Mace is out...fall from grace...

Finishing it off for today...there is a middle school fight between the poopah and the ESPN pundit, Stephen A Smith...trump has called him 'dumb as a rock'...Smith called out trump for attending the Knick game as 'selfish, narcissistic, and ridiculous'...nah nah nah nah...it will continue on, as neither will back down...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
