Checks and Balances...

We have entered the Twilight Zone, kids...really...as the concept of 'checks and balances' is a no longer part of how to control what is happening...say what?...the idea of 'full disclosure' is going to go, unchecked...and it has to be a derivative of the closure of the daily newspaper...the investigative reporters, are no longer...well, employed...employed where?...

Sure, we still have the NY papers...the Washington Post...the USA Today...the LA Times...but, do you have a local one?...in fact, do you even have one delivered to your house or condo?...hardly...most have day old news in them...thus, many fewer writers...so, who in fact, does the checking on the politicians?...

The editors?...so very few of them...the concept of proof of story before publishing it?...gone...kids...gone...now we have the web net...where anything goes....it truly is the 'wild wild west' of information...one can say ANYTHING on the net...in fact, say it 3 times and it becomes a pseudo 'fact'...

Imagine this...one of the major sources of 'news', is the one 'X' controlled by the right hand man of the new Prez....Elon Musk...and the other, Facebook...a now loyal puppet of trump...Zetterberg (Zuckerberg)...so...where does the checking of the occurrences of the new regime happen?...it doesn't...

Did you enjoy the pomp and circumstance of the Inauguration yesterday?...right, not me either...did see some of the vids...the weirdest one?...trump taking the oath, without his hand on the 2 Bibles that 'wild hatted' Melania had in her hands...Hillary Clinton laughing when trump said he was renaming the Gulf of Mexico, to the Gulf of trump, er America...poor Carrie Underwood, realizing that she didn't have a stage, didn't have any music, and had to sing 'America the Beautiful', acapella...she was infuriated after...as she said 'help me out, here'...your choice, gal...

How about his pardoning of the people that were involved in the coup attempt, back in the last election?...that should resurrect the Proud Boys...trump's people...man, we are in for a real ride this section of time...

Ohio State won the Natty Title...as expected...really, they won it when they beat Oregon...too bad, it wasn't those two at the end...not at first...Chip gets a ring, and that is cool...now, just try and follow the portal and see where all the players go...cha ching...$$$...

Tried to watch some more NBA...the Celts at the Warriors...oh man, this Golden St team is dreadful...don't care who is coaching them...outmanned and their new GM is a lost soul...out of his league...(Dunleavy)...BTW, Boston by 40!!!!....

Funny line and partially a 'truth'...the Melania hat, was reminiscent of Natasha on the 'Rocky and Bullwinkle Show'...

Just a curiosity thing...how many of the immigrants in Detroit have their American citizenship cards?...a different ethnicity, but is trump going after them, too?...or just Latinos?...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... The revenge tour is ramping up ...as we gawk at the unchecked moves by trump ...even SCOTUS , the last leg of justice, is wobbling beneath his demands... this country is in disarray ...I wish I could give you better news...
