Be Prepared

Morning, kids...the motto of how I coached in the...now, way way past...BE PREPARED for the worst...yup, and many times I wasn't...which fueled my theory even more...take care of the negatives first, then work on the positives...in a very weak form, similar to the teachings of the great one, John Wooden...so much of your success, is due to the talent that you have...regardless of how you coach...I felt like I worked the hardest when I had teams destined for failure...man, and I loved those kids just as much as the others...unless, one can recruit (some did), you are given what you got...it was part of the game...and they came up in your system...so, try to make it work...adjusting all the time...really, it was great fun...

Somehow I am going to link that with the present day Friars...the talented kids are there...BUT, underachieving...find a way, coach...no better example of not doing that, was last eve...as Yu Darvich was on the mound for us...obviously, did not have it...was hit hard from the get go...and Mgr Melvin stuck with him anyway...he gave up 4 HOME RUNS!...negating any chance to win...it was a disaster...this is your job, dude...go to others, much quicker than you did...to say, I have my doubts about him...is an understatement...

180*...this is the day that I originally had pegged for trump's 3rd indictment...the DOJ gave him til last Thursday to come in, and plead his case...of course, he chose not to...he thinks he is above all laws...right?...I perused the 23 sources this am...nothing yet...

Why did the British Invasion of the 60's happen then, and never again?...music...The Beatles, The Dave Clark Five, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, Peter and the Hermits, The Who, the Searchers, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and others...why not now?...

Speaking of coaching...at a USC hoops practice, LeBron James' son, Bronny...had a cardiac arrest!...taken to the hospital and now is off support...egads, life is precious...doing OK now...more later on this...as it becomes available...man, nothing more than fearing for your son's life...

Here in Diego...Westfield has sold both of it's malls...for $290 million bucks...which means what?...malls, as we know them, are going bye bye...is this the future of 'em by the new buyers?...don't know yet...

I had 4 tequila shots last nite, and Miranda Lambert's music still sounded like crap...

You recall my blog on NFL running backs...the $ cash cow no more...well, the Giants signed their true super star for $11 million for one season, Saquon Barkley...about 1/3rd less than the average QB they have...dude, can you play hoops?...

We have found the best Chinese food...out at Sycuan casino...true dat...and that's where we are going this eve...there is none, well, not much, in downtown...the Gaslamp...nil...we usually go to Hillcrest and get Panda Express...but, the real thing is out at Sycuan...

I pondered about the wonder weight loss drugs...you see 'em all the time on the pixels...Ozempic and Wegovy...many 'stars' have used them for their system...the two use semaglutide...which mimics a hormone, naturally made by the body, GLP-1...which slows the passage of food thru the stomach, which helps people feel fuller longer...whew...did I get that all right?...problem is, these drugs MAY slow down the process TOO MUCH!...which can cause gastroparesis...commonly called 'stomach paralysis'...which cause one to throw up, er vomit...often...nausea...SO, kids...before doing this...talk it over with your Doc...thought you ought to know...
