Around Town


With a day to wander the streets of Salem. we took full advantage of it...starting with the bloody rain, and ending with some oddly warmish weather...the excursion ranged the 4 corners of this ever expanding city...ie, the Willametter Valley Vineyards (one of our investments) which is filled with more and more warehouses...restaurants...bars...fast food joints...one thing, less number of weed markets...gots to think that are jobs all over this place...very encouraging...

A reminder hitting me right thru the eyes, NO SALES TAX...the price is what it says it is...coo...homeless?...sure, but due to the weather, they are tented up...appeared to be spread out, too...where do they get their food?...today. I may head on down to the outlets...or to Fred Meyers...as we await our departure to Eugene for the Duck game...ah, the reason for moi coming here...7:30 pm start, which is absolutely bogus, man...around 4?...

One more item...the way the local high school football playoff system works, all of the Salem schools made it...weird...the results of last night's games;...disappointing...they all got beat...not sure if I understand the new system...all made it?...odd...

Scheduling of the college games are awkward, too...both OSU and UO have home games today...imagine I-5 will be ugly...the Beavs at 2:30 and the Ducks at 7:30...as they are but 40 minutes apart in location...

Have I mentioned the price of petrol?...buck plus cheaper...and I ran into people that I knew from way back...that was cool...really cool...that remembered me...met up with the Martins, too...which was fab...knowing all along, that I am at the mercy of the Snooki's...who are so kind to board and run me around...


OK...this too...the last time I was here...there were a gaggle of trump flags dotting the area...gone...poof...this is a good thing...you Salemites are to be commended...ya'll came to your senses...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
