POOF! There it Goes

In a most bizarre game in the Pac 12
...the headlines should be that the Stanford Cardinal won the game in OT over the once, highly ranked Oregon Ducks...over and out...not so fast, my good friends...the 'bizarre' part was more that just that...highly incredible officiating, not uncommon for this crew...almost like it was RIGGED!...I go there, because I don't think that any official has ever been charged for this in modern times...

Weird was that Oregon was playing without their starting center (not weird) but also, their Offensive Coordinator was missing...the official word was sick, but not due to virus implications (not Covid)...the resulting play calling, was odious at best...surely, by halftime...things would change...which they did...and the Ducks changed the game around and went ahead with a bit more than 2 minutes to go...

The Cardinal had 95 yards to tie the game up...coupled with a brutal 'targeting' call...which was on a 3rd and long play, that was incomplete...but, the worst of all came at the last play of the game...as Stanford ran a fade to the right side of the end zone...incomplete...game over...not so fast...out of the depths of the back end zone came a mysterious yellow flag...PI by the Ducks...the telecast ran ONE replay, and it showed not only a non-call should have been made, BUT the Stanford player PUSHED OFF!...why can't they review this?...anyhoo, after the last buzzer, the Cardinal gets one more play and go the other way, and score and send the game into OT, where they win...

I wish it were that easy...but in the OT, after Stanford scored...UO's chance....there was a brutal hit on a defenseless wide out...that was called and then OVERTURNED...needless to say, there was commotion after this game...it has made the web net like no other...by people who are not Duck fans, too...calling out the embarrassing job this officiating crew did...almost like it was influenced by $...hmmm...

Yes, I am left wondering out loud...who evaluates the refs?...to be sure, the last month of play, UO does not seem to be a number 3 team in the nation...win or lose the game yesterday...injuries, bad play calling, missing OC, and another thing real evident, lack of depth...how can that happen to such a vaunted program?...

Let's turn to Corvallis...a fantastic win by the Beavers over the Dawgs...it's also great to see the crowd coming back to OSU to watch the football...not only the diehards, but the new fans of the program...listen, the HC there has done a terrific job revitalizing the program...could it be, that the other Oregon team steps up and wins not only the state, but the Pac 12 north?...

Miss St beat Texas A&M...upset for Leach...and yes, the Cincy team beat Notre Dame, as predicted by Vegas...how about Hawaii beating FresnO St!...and ASU mauling UCLA in LaLa...finally, Auburn tripping LSU...yup, some upsets, kids...

I guess I did all football today...sorry you non-ballers...so, I'll keep going...some dandy NFL games...Cardinals at the Rams...Seahawks at the 49ers...and the doozy of them all, the TT led Bucs at Bellychicks Patriots...who will win this one?...Gronk is out for TB...

To the Red Zone, Batman...
