Throwback Thursday (of the Pads)

The rise and fall of the...Padres...again...deja vu...regardless of who is at the helm...in recent times, there is but one thing in common...the GM...not the manager, not the coaches, not even the players...the GM...not that there hasn't been some good moves...but, the essence of the game of baseball is pitching...stock your draft picks with young hurlers...then, trade for pitchers, as teams are declaring 'fire sales'...starters, relievers, and closers...right now...in the eyes of many, the better season of the San Diego Padres franchise...we have the worst pitching staff of any contenders in the league...perhaps, in all of beisbol...the credit for that goes directly to...the GM...AJ Preller...pretty obvious what the change should be...not the manager, not the coaches, but the inventory 'guru' of the team...time for a new direction, kids...pay close attention to the owners...it is imperative...

Enough of my soap box on the Friars...just so disappointing...

I keep getting info on the 'whip' incident (s)...almost to the point that I don't know what to believe...how about you?...another query, how did those Haitians get to that area anyhoo?...going across the body of water and so on...point is, there are so many countries that are dysfunctional, that the people will do anything to get to the land of the 'free'...well, whatever the USA is...risk their lives to do so, as they have no chance in their homeland...

Of course, there is another angle of concern in the 'Gabby killing'...did not think of this, but it's out there today...why is there so much concern over a white gal, and this sort of thing happens much too often to women of color?...point taken, but that does not solve this crime...that is another issue, that should be addressed...media people, you have an answer?...

We, golfer types, are gearing up for the oh so fun team match in golf...the Ryder Cup...Europe vs USA...even if you are not a golf fan, this is mighty entertaining...Fri-Sun in Wisconsin...the land of the cheese heads...whatever...an individual sport, that turns into a team thang...love it...

The college football weekend...some gooduns out there...my quick look...Notre Dame at Wisconsin...imagine the number of fans in that state for sports...golf and fb...LSU at Miss St...upset?....UCLA at Stanford...another Bruin loss?...OSU at USC...time for the Beavers to stand tall...Arizona at Oregon...29 point favs...is that too much?...and, are all the D players back for UO?...

Shots for this, shots for that...next week we get some more...flu...my arm has got to the point that it wants and needs the inoculations...it has got to the juncture of a junkie...feed my arm, please...protect me body from whatever is out there...

We are taking a mini-vacay to Ponte...this is a wondrous get away in Temecula...awesome food, wine, swimming, and meeting up with some amigos there...does it get better?...taking Beetlejuice...cuz we are 'members' we get to go to the special room, er area, of the prestigious wines...don't hate us cause we are beautiful...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
