Rowdy

Oh my, just when you think you have seen it all...the mighty (?) Padres...of San Diego...back home...capacity crowd for the 1st time in 16 months...hosting the 'Red' hot Cincinnati Redlegs...winners of 6 straight...it's like, the Friars can't catch any breaks...outside of the DBacks, now losers of 23 consecutive road losses...SD has been miserable...winners of but 4 of the past 17...

The game was a pitcher's duel...in fact, the Pads were hitless in the 6th...in a nil-nil game...0-0...nada a nada...nuttin to nuttin...zero to zero...then Jr, connected on another dinger...he is himself, 'red' hot...his 22nd and is now leading the NL in HR's...tack on another solo shot by Manny...and going into the 9th, we are up 2-0 and cruising...time for the closer to arrive and wrap this baby up...

However, he doesn't have his good stuff...and Cincy erupts for 4 and their bench goes ballistic!...thinking that they have pulled off yet another miracle win...their 'game' clinching HR, was even a mockery of how Jr rounds the bases and pauses at 3rd...'in your face'...until...

It is the Pads chance...in the bottom of the 9th...all of a sudden, the tide changed...Hos hit a 2 run homer to tie it...as the crowd went crazy!...delirious...and a short time later...our clutch hitting catcher, Caratini, did it again...another 2 run smash and the wild ride was over...and a WIN!...6-4!...

8 runs scored in the 9th...as both teams take a deep look at their relief pitching...as the tele goes bonkers...what is often said in the biz, 'we needed that'...no kidding...
