The Poinsettia


I'm gonna take you down another path today, kids...time for some learnin'...perhaps, you are already privy to the what, why, and where of the most gorgeous plant that is known for surfacing during Christmas, er Holiday, time...OK, I am the one that objects to those who are afraid to call it Christmas time...so, for the next greater part of the month, don't expect me to shy away from what I think it should be called...man, Horse, you do get carried away...BUT, what I am referring to is the POINSETTIA!...mostly found and grown as RED, but there are other colors out there...

It was a plant indigenous to Mexico...and our (the USA's) Mexico ambassador, Joel Roberts Poinsett, who brought them back to the US...like in the 1825's or so...yes, you can see the name change of the plant, at least to us, the US...there is a German family that dug it, and cultured it here...and there...well, and everywhere...the Ecke Family...still do, one of their spots is actually in Encinitas, Cali...like close to where we camp, er RV, at...I digress...as much as 50-70% of the product is furnished by them...still...

However, there is another tale...a Mexican legend tells of a girl who offered weeds (this plant) to Jesus on Christmas Eve...when they arrived at the church, they blossomed into this gorgeous red plant...they called it 'Flores de Noche Buena', which interprets out to 'flowers of the holy night'...

Point is...that the Poinsettia is rich in tradition and such a beautiful addition to your Christmas decor...whether it is for beauty or biblical, or both...it works...

Normally, our house is so vibrant during these times, we love to show it off...and have people over for some egg nog (kidding, NOT!)...but have folks over for some spirits and some Xmas music...it still is festive, but only WE can enjoy it...cuz of this damn pandemic...ah, notice our tree topper...




VP Pence...has let it out that the vaccine may start to be administered by mid December...is this the Pfizer one?...not sure...Moderna just asked for theirs to be released...as you know from my blog yesterday...the word is that the Euro leader is deciding on Pfizer, like today...

Let's move along...

The NFL has established that no game will be missed...regardless of the number of positive Covid tests of players and coaches in the league...got so, that the Denver Broncos had no quarterbacks on their roster for last Sunday's game...the pundits were irate!...not the Horse...they all knew the rules...they had to really coach that game...yup, they got whupped...now, FOLLOW the rules...

Snooki's song of the day...'Promises, Promises' by Naked Eyes...an English 80's band...hated the songs from that decade...well, I didn't care for them...but, I did like their version of 'Always Something There to Remind Me'...a cover of a Burt Bacharach/Hal Davis song...Dionne Warwick's release in '63 was better, tho...

As we were perusing thru our family tree, something got my attention so much...think cuz, this guy looks a bit like moi...my GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT Grandfather, was Chief Red Wing...yup, the show company was named after him, too...here is a pix...what u think?...



Speaking of music...I happened on a Country Christmas special last night on the tele...it was cool and festive, too...the highlights were songs by Kelsea Ballerini, Lady A, Tim McGraw, Gabby Barrett, and Little Big Town...amongst others...find it and play it...

December 1...yup, love this month...it was the one that our son was born in...yup. love the anticipation of Christmas...yup, love all the decorations...yup, love the food and bubbly...yup, love the music...love love love...

And then this...Hannity (Fox News)...you know him, the devout (hate to use that term in this case) follower of trump...has urged donny to pardon himself...here's the deal...first, can he do that?...2nd, why?...is there something that he has done, that Hannity knows of, that might incriminate orange?...something is mighty weird here...

Finally, if you hear Little Big Town's song, 'Wine, Beer, Whiskey' you can NOT quit singing it!

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

A Trial, Indeed

The revenge tour is ramping up ...as we gawk at the unchecked moves by trump ...even SCOTUS , the last leg of justice, is wobbling beneath his demands... this country is in disarray ...I wish I could give you better news... The unsightly attack of one of his Icetapo behemoths, on a lady in New York...taking her to the ground...an example of the uncontrolled behavior of that organization...guess that is what you call the group... simply, out of control, with NO LIMITS of force ...sad...and disgusting... The indictment of his former FBI head, James Comey ...for lying (imagine that from a legendary liar, trump) to Congress...this court case is needed for the country...to show the fallacy of the regime that is running rampant all over the land...it needs to be a BIG STAGE! ... A trial, indeed... In data released by trump's own government...the largest groups of detainees...the Icetapo's achievement of rounding up people...are not the ones with ANY CRIMINAL RECORD , but, 'illeg...
