Playoffs

In a rather benign sports weekend, where the rest of the games, matches, duels, whatever, are just not that BIG...the NFL will dominate it, on this Sunday, January 19, 2020...with the playoffs...beginning in Kansas City, Missouri...then, heading over to Santa Clara, California...for the 2nd and final game...both are outside stadiums, so the weather will be a factor...KC will be in the low 20's, with no precipitation...just freezing cold!...Santa Clara will be mid 50's, also with no wet stuff...there you go, if you can believe the weather people...

The upset minded Tennessee Titans will be in KC, facing the host Chiefs...I am bewildered that the spread is only 7 1/2...I am pulling for the ground purge, and clock consuming game plan of the Titans...but, reality takes over...KC is really really talented...too many options to score...and quickly...figure the score about 34-14...in that neighborhood...

The 2nd game is another deal...as the Green Bay Packers travel all the way out to NoCal for this one...so much of what the pundits are saying about the front 4 of the 49ers giving fits to the QB Rodgers...OK, I think that the Pack D will do the same to the SF QB...standoff!...egads, the decision will probably be a late FG...or, worse, a blown call...that is allowed...booo...anyway, this is a pick'em...

The Lake Show was in Houston to take on the defenseless Rockets...LaLa was without the Brow...so, it is their LeBron game...listen, kids, he is just fine...if someone is better than he in the game, show me...the Beard is a prolific scorer for Houston, but his matador D is legendary...which makes him NEVER, EVER an MVP candidate in my book...and that is the way it went...LA doubled Harden most of the time...the Lakers in an easy win...hey, LaLa is on the road for like 5 games, cuz their arena hosts the Grammys...who says it isn't show time in LA?...

Duke got beat twice this week( as did Auburn)...what?...the last time that happened, Coach K took the season off...this time to Louisville...quite frankly, Dukies, you can dance, point, rattle, mock the opponent all you want, but it's your turn to get the L stuck on YOUR forehead..

SDSU keeps right on a winning...and should move up a bit in the AP ranking, right?...maybe...Gonzaga and Baylor, aren't going anywhere...as is Kansas and Butler...hmmm, the best they could do is 5...yea, so figure it will be #5...that is OK, just keep on keeping on...oh yea, this time it was the always dangerous Nevada Wolf Pack...

Speaking of shows...flicks...we saw one that had 'Oscar' all over it...oh my...'Marriage Story'...you seen it?...how two people fell apart...and the bickering and lawyering involved...think that a couple(actually THREE!) of the actors were nominated for Oscars for this...Scarlett Johansson, Laura Dern, and Adam Driver...geez, I just read the film is up for one, too...oh my...listen, kids...it was a brutal show...painfully storied...will give them this, they did act well...but, I like to be energized, or feel good about a flick...not demoralized...

OK...now for real news...not fake...lawdy I cringe writing that...the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will no longer use the titles His and Her Royal Highness...vanished as senior members of the royal fam...oh my...Harry and Meghan...just plain folk, I reckon...now...does that mean they have to go back to work...somewhere?...

The calm before the storm...well, not in NYC, who already have theirs...snow...gosh it is pretty to look at them pix...but, I am referring to the Impeachment Trial, set to start on Tuesday...can they or can't they call witnesses to testify?...probably the burning Q for the day...not sure how this all works...as the Senators can't have cell phones on them...must sit in quiet and proceed accordingly...sure, until Trump defies that somehow...doesn't he do whatever he pleases?...I have this eery feeling that he is going to make a mockery of the process...

Here is the tip for the day...State Farm has the inside on the outcome of the games....well, not really, but they would lurve to have it...as their two leading actors in their commercials are in the final 4...KC's QB Mahomes, and GB's QB Rodgers...wouldn't they like to see these fellers in the Soooper Bowl?...
