Top 9
The 3 teams that I follow the most, all won...WON!...UO, SDSU, and OSU...which in itself is a major happening...well...first, the Aztecs...who found another way to get the W...nothing flashy or...impressive...but...somehow...they do...against a once proud and formidable Fresno St team...which has not been the same since they fired Rich Hill...I digress...now 8-2 on the season...bowl eligible for sure...but, the Mountain gets the lesser bowls...the Spud Bowl, and, well...you get me drift...
The Beavs are continuing their climb back up to respectability...with a crazy 35-34 victory over the visiting Sun Devils...the D was not the strength for both of these squads...call me a nut, but when ASU scored the tying (almost) TD and just needed the XP kick...they went for 2, unsuccessfully...it was a dumb, very dumb decision...and that was it...the Beaver Nation rejoiced...here's the deal, every week is a Q mark for OSU...as they travel to the Palouse next week...that could be a 100 point combined game...
The Ducks methodically whupped the visiting 'Zona Wildcats...think of that for a sec, two home games in Oregon, a couple of hours apart...that stretches the fans out...one would think...anyhoo...that win clinched a title match with probably Utah for the Pac 12 Crown...UO has had a terrific season, thus far...an improved power game is the reason...and on to ASU next week...always a tough place to play...test number 11...
Some other random thoughts...before the release of the Poll...'Bama lost their starting QB Tua...a freakish hip injury, that will sideline him for the season...in a blowout win, nonetheless...Georgia won, er, survived over the ever tough Auburn whatever...reminder that was the team that beat UO to start the season at Jerry's place...hey, Georgia is really, really good...Oklahoma in an improbable comeback to beat the Baylor Bears...talk about switch of momentum...Minnesota lost their slipper at Iowa...and Utah clobbered Chip's Bruins...
Drum roll please...here we go...
The first tier has the top 3 teams...yup, it takes 4 for the champ series...these are a lock...well, is there such a thing?...close to...
1. LSU...they beat 'Bama...have extraordinary athletes and play in the toughest elite conference, the SEC...
2. Ohio St...I think the Big 10 (14) is the most over-rated grouping of all...but, they are a standout there...they have Michigan and Penn St to go...hmmm, rethinking this, maybe they are NOT a lock...
3. Georgia...their D is awesome...just awesome...and have the big play dudes in the O...BUT...they will have to face LSU in their conf champ game...which could change everything...
The next 4...I'm gonna hedge here a bit...and just list the teams in no particular order...one of these, maybe two will slip past a fading 'lock' team...
4-7...Oregon...man, there are those who think that they should be 4...I am not sure they hit like the teams in the SEC...but, if they win out...there are 3 to go...ASU, OSU, and Utah...then they belong...
Clemson...here is a big quandary...they play in the worst football conf...and dominate...for sure...and they have been in the final 4 the past 3 years...BUT...they have played NO ONE tough...
Utah...you could ditto what I said about UO...they have an easy path to the Pac 12 champ game...'Zona and Colorado...if they beat the Ducks, there you go...
Alabama...so much to question when their star QB Tua went down...do they have a good replacement?...I mean they have quality athletes everywhere...something tells me they will be just fine...
8. Oklahoma...that comeback yesterday was legendary...and so fun to watch...yes, they could sneak up...if there are losses by the top 7...don't be too surprised if they get WAY up there...
9. Penn St...no way in Hell...unless, Ohio St gets upset...won't happen...and I am being generous in giving them number nine...
So there you go...agree or disagree, it's OK...
Here at the zoo, we did put up our tree...took us most of the day...we did take it slow...the Santas are out...and the pad looks mighty festive...for about 7 weeks...ha ha...Happy Holidays!...

Do you understand the Taylor Swift feud with the company that 'bought' her early recordings?...gosh, that whole thing is so awkward...that she can't sing her own songs at the AMA's?...imagine somebody telling Frank Sinatra he couldn't sing his songs...'take care of him'....'let him swim with the fishes'....
In the what the heck world...NBA...the Spurs head coach Pop...gets the heave ho...really?...ha ha...and in his absence, the coaching duties fell on whom?...some thought it was Becky Hammon, one of his key assistants...or, it was the old Spur player, Tim Duncan...the pundits were claiming the First Lady coach in the NBA...alas, the truth be told...it was Duncan who was assigned the task...ah, which they lost the game...to PDX...hooray...
Do you use air pods to listen to your smart phone?...geez, I see that they can cost up to $149 for the pair...I don't...but am looking...I just saw a phone case that had some spots for them built in to the case....cool...I dunno...
