Grammy Review

For some odd reason, I was drawn to the Grammy telecast...knowing that many of the now music stars are virtually unknown to moi...thus, I get to see what the 'big' commotion is all about...if there is such a thang, anymore...not sure of this, and maybe need a fact check, but...the hostess, Alicia Keys...was the first lady host...hmmm, really?...

She did fine...let me say, that the entire show was too casual...if that is possible for music...but, that's OK...the highlights were not the winners of the Awards, but the singers, singing...the best?...the two legends that they honored...Dolly Parton and Diana Ross...each sang their own stuff...Dolly had accompaniment...Diana did not...each had strong voices and were on KEY!...

Head scratching minutes for some of the performers...like who are they?...which I expected...and more so, why would anyone buy this stuff?...why Travis Scott has any followers, is beyond me...JLo did great, but one might think that maybe, just maybe, that a Motown star or group, would be the performers for honoring MOTOWN...and, for sure, no lip-syncing should ever be allowed...oh yea, what was Lady GaGa on?...

Just one note on the actual award winners...well, two notes...have you ever seen the video for the song of the year winner?...Childish Gambino's?...you have GOT to be kidding me...and the album (?) winner was Kacey Musgrave's...really?...

Alicia doing some covers, while playing 2 pianos was way cool...Dan and Shay actually singing, real well...Khloe and her sis, were great...and the 3 gals paying tribute to Aretha were spot on...

I would have loved to hear someone do the Dolly written song...'I Will Always Love You'...would have been a perfect time to do so...

And the night was mysteriously politically free...well sorta...but, at the beginning of the event...something stood out...when Michele Obama came out with 3 other ladies...her ovation was chilling...listen, kids...I keep telling ya, that if, and make that IFF(math terminology)...she wanted to run for Prez...and combat the orange ogre...she could and she would WIN!...

Gotta run, have golf this am...BTW, Lefty has 2 more holes to go, to win at Pebble Beach...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
