The Ducks Awakened

More than a month ago...the UO Ducks were quacking along quite nicely in D-1 football...new coach...new style of play...success was a brimming over the cup...as NO ONE had them doing so this season...and then...the QB went down with an injury to his shoulder...BOOM!...

What was, was no longer...and the next series of games was near a disaster...losses piled up...the new coach was hearing 'it' from the locals...the leading of the offense was left with a freshman to do the job...and, he didn't have the skills of the injured one...hmmm, can you NFL blokes relate this to the Packer's Aaron Rogers?...the number of plays became very limited...and the O had to change to adapt...

Then...last night...the QB returned...I mean, RETURNED!...guess what team looked like that Duck team early on?...Justin Herbert...the enthusiasm is back...you could hear it in the crowd...you could see it on the players...was that Coach Taggart smiling?...yup...them Ducks have awakened!...a solid 20 point win over the Arizona 'Cats...yes, one really good player can make that much of a difference...

Some lesser bowl game is going to get a beaut of a team in UO...gosh, it would be nice if our Holiday Bowl would be the one...

You see the finish of the Dawgs and Utes?...what was the Utah coach thinking?...the game was tied at 30...less than 30 seconds to go in regulation...UDub had the ball in their own territory...out of time outs...OK, got the pix?...they run the ball to put it into OT...but wait!...Utah calls time out...what?...giving UW new life, so to speak...they then complete a couple of yardage gaining passes...get into FG range...and boot the winner at the end...'thank you very much, Utah coach'...say the Dawgs...geez, most coaches would get fired...

Hey...these schedule filler of games for the elite programs are a complete joke at this time of the year...'Bama beat Mercer 56-0, FSU beat Delaware St 77-6, Auburn beat Louise Monroe 42-14, and Clemson beat the Citadel 61-3...need more examples than these?...

Finally...the Heisman Race...for the best player in the land...the spot on leader is the QB of Oklahoma...Baker Mayfield...continues his onslaught of questionable antics...towards other teams...does this enter in the voting at all?...if you'd like...try your vote on this guy...the RB out of SDSU...Rashaad Penny...who leads the COUNTRY in rushing yards...had over 220 last night against Nevada...in their 9th win...and when interviewed after the game...gave all the credit to everyone around him...
