Jingle Bells

Probably no happier song...ever...and who doesn't know it?...Jingle Bells...as we wind down our shopping...and get ready for the kids to arrive...for Christmas...did I tell you that we love this?...probably a dozen or more...

Anyway, the song was written in, gulp, 1857!...by James Lord Pierport...originally called 'One Horse Open Sleigh'...it actually was the 1st song broadcast in outer space, by the Gemini 6 crew...but who made it the most famous?...so many peops have sung it...maybe Bing Crosby and the Andrew Sisters...I dunno, really...

Get this...picked Marsh up from work...WORK?...and we went out to the beach for lunch...'the weather outside was frightful'...wait, just the opposite...so much for that song...a new restaurant that was the Green Flash...really...now, a Mex one...terrific nachos and a 'signature' margarita...like had 3 normals in it...so much for the rest of the day...70*, sunny, and not a bit of wind...did NOT want to leave...

Hmmm...another bowl game out of Boca Raton, Florida...I have been in that state at least 20 times...and never been to Boca...anyway, the game was a laugher...Western Kentucky beat up on Memphis...I know, you didn't even know they existed...right?...my take on the game....the 'expert' analyst was the former Heisman dude out of Michigan...Desmond Howard...terrible...actually made light of a 'targeting call'...where you hit another with your helmet...brutal...

Hoops...the Warriors in a stomp...against one of the better teams in the west...the Jazz...took about 4 minutes for either team to score...GS opened up, Utah did not...by 30...and the top 4 didn't play in the 4th Q...and, oh my...your PDX Blazers in another stinker...losing to the Sac Kings...lead most of the way...and then lost it...again...if you watched it, you were probably sickened by the actions of the Kings C...Boogie Cousins...actually ejected...and then brought back by the inept officiating crew...to finish off the Blazers and the game...ugh...

More serious...the killings in Germany...they still don't have the coward who drove into the Xmas Crowd...he ran...of course...worthless piece of mankind that would do this...kill civilians...I hope that this isn't a part of their 'religion'...I just don't get it...

My fave comment from yesterday's blog...'I want to return that present'...referring to the Prez Trump...sorry, but this one lasts for a full 4 years...probably longer than any present that you will get this Xmas...eeks...

OK, I have been alluding to this for almost a year...our voting system is broken...makes no diff what party you are affiliated with...if any...but...there needs to be revamping...and simplifying done...but, NOBODY will do it...just complain about it...why?...the lobbyists, kids, the lobbyists...follow the money...if you can...our Supreme Court has made it virtually impossible to do, with the Super Pac scheme...hiding of the donors...bah humbug...

I am heading out to Sycuan for the last day of golf prior to Xmas...basking in the glory of a 2nd place finish...OK, all my golfing buds were 2nd, but that's not the point...I was actually part of it...which, in itself, is a miracle....
