Thanksgiving

In but a short week we will all celebrate the timeless event called 'Thanksgiving'...where families will gather, er, and, I'm not exactly knowing why...cuz, I suppose...just cuz...sure, I have the history of it all...the Pilgrims and the Renegades...coming together...right...bitter?..am I bitter?...naw...

I saw, er see it, as a time that families commingle...put work aside...and meet up for a meal...at the mercy of the turkey...er, tofurkey, ham, or prime rib roast...or whatever...at someone's house...used to be that someone said 'grace'...er, gave a blessing for the meal and the meeting...right?...maybe you still do...

Shoot, the memories...some times the turkey was like 3 hours late...one time I remember when the cutting of the bird, was more of a releasing of an endless stream of ...well, you know...a smoke fest by some of the members...when that was considered 'OK'...I guess...the aftermath of that...the smoky pumpkin pie...arguing over the proper way of the making of the gravy...our cat Shaz, leaving her marks on chairs, and licking the butter off the finished product...and finally, those who had to sit at the small table, away from the others...who were fortunate to sit at the 'big' table...

As time has gone on...as we age...the parents have left us...and
fragmented families and just 'friends' meet up...for the same thing...kind of cool...yet, it's hard not to think back about what it was like 'back then'...do miss the parents...think about that, all you youngins...

It's also a time that you can transcend yourself into the goings on in some of your (my) favorite TV shows...my fav, without a doubt, was the hilarious one in "Cheers"...as they carried on with the throwing of the food...you HAVE to see it...again...almost as good...maybe better...was the one in "Friends"...another must see...there are others...but these two, are highlight reel worthy...

Whatever, enjoy your time...we are...going to go to Vegas...my how times have changed...

Other...

The Golden St Warriors...beat them pesky Canadians last night...just odious refereeing...ha ha...do I say that a lot?...my, I do like watching GS play the game...they move the ball and find the hot hand...

Justin Verlander...pitcher of them Detroit Tigers...had a splendid season...but came up short in the American League Cy Young Award...given by some baseball writers as the best in their respective leagues...well now...his lady, is the 'it girl' Kate Upton...who tweeted (yes, that's what we all do now) that she thought that she was the only one screwing Justin...not exactly the verbage she used...in disgust over some writers not even having Verlander on any of the top 5 spots...hate these bogus award thingers...ask the players...they'll give you the truth...not these writers...

We were coming back from the beach yesterday...and got waylaid by the cops...as they were sectioning off much of downtown...as some students skipped out of class to protest...hey, where do they get the notion that they can walk out of class?...imagine back in the day...they'd get suspended on top of their 'protest'...right?...

I can't remember people so interested in the Prez-elect possible cabinet members to be...ever...have you?...I suppose that it's because Trump is neither Repub or Demo...well, he was both, at one time...just like moi...hey hey, I'm now an independent....

The one thing I did bring back from Orygun?...a sickness of sorts...today, yes today...I finally woke up feeling a bit normal...ornery...too...which just may be normal...

So...get this...we are going to make a turkey dinner for the weekend...just cuz...not the whole bird, but the turkey breast...the whipped taters...the stuffing...the green beans...the sweet potatoes with marshmallows...the gravy...the rolls...the smoky pumpkin pie (not!)...Julian Pie (yes)...white wine...coffee...anyone interested?...oops, and home made cranberry sauce...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

A Trial, Indeed

The revenge tour is ramping up ...as we gawk at the unchecked moves by trump ...even SCOTUS , the last leg of justice, is wobbling beneath his demands... this country is in disarray ...I wish I could give you better news... The unsightly attack of one of his Icetapo behemoths, on a lady in New York...taking her to the ground...an example of the uncontrolled behavior of that organization...guess that is what you call the group... simply, out of control, with NO LIMITS of force ...sad...and disgusting... The indictment of his former FBI head, James Comey ...for lying (imagine that from a legendary liar, trump) to Congress...this court case is needed for the country...to show the fallacy of the regime that is running rampant all over the land...it needs to be a BIG STAGE! ... A trial, indeed... In data released by trump's own government...the largest groups of detainees...the Icetapo's achievement of rounding up people...are not the ones with ANY CRIMINAL RECORD , but, 'illeg...
