Sunday Quickie

Morning kids...just a short one this am...we are on day 3 of the Member/Guest T out at Sycuan, as you know...Cris and I had a terrific round yesterday...in 3rd place out of 25 teams in our flight...last year we were 6th...so...improvement!...

We had a guy that really hit it 300+ yards off the tee...egads...in the group...was way cool, cuz we were hitting it out dang good...30  to 40 yards shorter...but...we were chipping and putting well, er better than that long knocker...hey, it's so much fun playing in this thing with my son...could care less if we get in the $...that's just a sweet bonus...

Today is the hard one...as both scores count...yesterday, was a best ball...which means we both have to be on to be in the hunt...we'll see...just do our best...keep it in play and make some putts...it's all fun...

How about them injury depleted Padres!...the entire infield is out now...on the DL...and we have subs from everywhere in our farm system on the field...two of our top 3 pitchers are on the same list...egads...and we still hang...went to OT and won in Milwaukee...dingers by Norris and Upton were the diff...that's 4 straight series that we have won or tied...which is in the "how the heck do we do this?" category....we have relievers pitching that I have never, ever, heard of before...

Jason Day continues his dominance in the PGA Tour...as he is whupping the field in the Player's T in Florida...ah hem, Rickey and Jordan, didn't even make the cut...got some real reservations about Spieth...after his collapse at the Masters...was heard yelling at his caddie...calm down JS, you are still a kid...this is the place that has that island green...even the big boys have nerves over it...the crowd is huge...gathered to witness the beauty and the onslaught of the mistakes...feast or famine...

Was it weird is that there was no playoff hoops on yesterday?...need options...well, we did get out to Little Italy and feast at Buon Appetito...this my friends, is mighty good eatin'...and hit the sack early...

OK...we have to get a going...tee time is at 8:30...grub furnished, so they say...BTW, I wore a jacket most the entire round...chillster...booo....
