Pac 12 Uneven
The college football season is upon us...and the league I like the best, the Pac 12...had mixed reviews...as some of the teams got beat by normally beatable foes...so, I guess, let's talk the questionables...Mike Leach's WSU Cougs...got it taken to them by, gulp, Portland St...what?...in a low scoring thinger...weird...and Colorado lost at Hawaii...geez, it's been years since the Rainbows have beaten a Pac 12er...years, I tell you...Stanford didn't score a TD in their loss to Northwestern...eegads...ASU (pre season fav) lost to Texas A&M....understandable...the Aggies are always tuff at home...and the Dawgs...got beat by the coach's old school, Boise St...
The positives...USC and UCLA...easy winners....and Utah over Michigan...Oregon St won...what?...as did Arizona...and Cal...laughers...by like 60...and then...the Ducks...
Like 60-40...over Eastern Washington...this is the school that beat Mike Riley's Beavs a couple of years back...let me tell you this...they are really well coached...and threw the ball at will versus the pathetic Oregon D...the same coordinator...as they are without discipline and direction...and now, have too many youngins at the corners...and the lack of linebacker play is deplorable...this is a group that will get scored on lots...I said the same thing last year...
The positive...the new QB, the transfer from that same school, EW...is a good one...and for only being in camp for 2 weeks and looked like he's been at the helm since spring ball...that good...the offense clicked...the trio of RB's are fantastic...the line appeared better...enjoy this one kids...as they travel to Mich St next week...ouch...gonna have to score like in the 40's to win...hmmm...
Speaking of the Life of Riley...can't be too cozy in Nebraska land...as they expect to win...lots...and his team had one in the bank...and then...the dreaded prevent D used by so many old school football "gurus"...rush 3...and watch the QB pick apart the others...and BYU hit a hail John Smith at the buzzer...and the "Cougars" stole one at Riley's home park...
Enough already...went out and hit the ball around...shot an 83...scrambled pretty well...really...still, the long stick is a problem...and have a tendency to spray the pelota...ha ha...it's my mantra, unfortunately...
